I know I'm late to this but I still dont believe it. Can anyone direct me to the video of Coleman being asked this question?

Verbeek said he's open to offers on his free agents.

Well of course. Because who knows what stupid offer might come. But I still think they end up keeping him. That said, they are probably in the worst shape of the bubble teams.

Was surprised to hear it at noon today, they aren't that far out of it, Gibson can't play this bad forever.

Obviously, it could simply be Verbeek playing the game and applying pressure to Rakell and Sikverburg. If they sign, cheap good, can be easily traded later, if they get dealt for picks equally good.

That question to Coleman is so ridiculous. What sports reporter that knows hockey would ask that? Maybe he's a weather man?

Sounds like Andrew McBain's kid is interesting to a lot of GMs. Speculation is that Minnesota will trade his rights rather than lose him for nothing.
Quote:
Even as recently as a few weeks ago, all indications were that the Wild were not only planning to sign Boston College senior Jack McBain after his NCAA season was complete, but also that they were also willing to burn the first year of the 6-foot-4 center’s two-year entry-level contract by putting him directly into their lineup.

It appears that’s now changed.

As Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek first reported Saturday night on “Hockey Night in Canada,” The Athletic has confirmed that it’s now unlikely that McBain signs with Minnesota. If that turns out to be the case, as Marek reported, it’s likely that general manager Bill Guerin would trade McBain’s rights in advance of the March 21 trade deadline.

Big hulking C who can score a bit but lacks foot speed.

Jack McBain had 29 points (18 goals) in 22 games to lead Boston college in scoring this year. 19 points (6 goals) in 24 games last year.

I wonder what happened to go so quickly from the Wild willing to sign him and burn a year of contract, to him leaving.

Could do worse with a 2nd round pick. McBain has a great skillset. Isn't as slow as say a Strome but his skating could use some work.

I wouldn't mind him in the Flames depth chart.
