Sure they could, he wants a guaranteed spot on the roster so give him lots of preseason games, start him game one, if he's not ready send him down, in other words... bull##### him.

Does he in fact want a guaranteed spot on any old roster, or a guaranteed spot on an American roster? At this stage, he hasn't yet tipped his hand, and could be playing for either of those things.

Just going by what Cheveldayoff said, which was McGroarty felt he was ready for the NHL and wanted a guaranteed spot on the Jets roster or he would stay in school.

You're probably right though, could very well be code for trade me to a US team.

That was the first thought I had when I heard McGroarty's reasons for wanting a trade- that he was really saying that he wanted to go to the US.

I was on the same flight as Adam Lowry from Winnipeg - and he had his full Jets bag when picking up his luggage. I know he grew up in Calgary - but can I start an Orange Julius rumour??

He waiving his MNTC to come to Calgary?

Or he's just... bringing his gear home and training in Calgary for now, or he's washing it all at his parents' place, or he's selling it on Kijiji, or, or, or... could be anything really! Or most likely, nothing at all.

The only thing i see the leafs doing is figuring out how to get a top defenseman into the fold.

That's an excellent way to have players clamouring to come to Calgary.

I'd tell him that the roster spot is his to lose (and I think it's fair to say that). However, our C spots are not necessarily available in the top 9 unless Zary stays on the wing which might be ok. If Zary, Pospisil, Sharangovich stay on the wing, then we would absolutely have the 3C spot open for him.

The Blues are not a bottom 5 team, ranked 16th in the NHL.

Close enough to take a friendly jab at an Oiler fan.

Read the article about McGroaty for Andersson and it was pure fan fiction described as speculation more than anything.

A slight debate im in with some Oiler fans after the Stauffer proposition of Andersson for Kulak, 2nd (St Louis for Broberg), Oilers 1st rounder

I think if it's a 2027 1st with the chance of Draisaitl and McDavid walking I would take it with the likelihood its a top 3 pick if McDrai walk. Or do you not help them out in any situation to win a cup in 2025?
