I thought Twisters was pretty good, for what it was. The lead singer of TV On The Radio is apparently an actor now? Worst part was all the pop country in the soundtrack, which is never a good thing.

Let's get one thing straight though, it doesn't hold a flame to the original.
Then again few of these reheated old franchise sequels do. Only a couple of filmmakers are making new classics. The rest are just making B versions of superior films with modern CGI where they don't have to come up with anything original and can film 80% of it in a basement.

Again, I say this about movies a lot.
It was exactly what it promised you it was going to be and it was exactly that.
It delivered what it promised. I enjoyed it.
I thought it was going to suck out loud like a lot of those movies that piggy-back on the success of their forebears, but it was an enjoyable film.
If you've got some time, I'd recommend it. You will be entertained, perhaps not 'Blown Away' but entertained none-the-less.

No one is saying that it does. Its just...I was expecting 'trash sequel.'
It wasn't that. It was well made, well acted and entertaining.

I agree.
It's amazing to me anyone is looking at the original Twister as something to get sentimental about. It was originally a B movie elevated by some good/HOF actors.
I watched it before heading to see the sequel and the whole goofy new-fiancee sub plot was eye-rollingly terrible. CG has held up extremely well though.
I enjoyed the pacing of the new one more than the original. Stakes were higher.

Enjoyed Twisters as well (at a drive in theatre!). Popcorn movie, pure and simple.
I frankly don't remember the original Twister being any great piece of work.

It was fine, for a film where in the first five minutes storm chasers are climbing up under the gurders of an overpass to survive a tornado. Isn't it common knowledge that that's suicide because it accelerates windspeed?
They should've used a different name instead of piggybacking on the 90s film. The two feel very different from one another.

Alien Romulus sitting at 83% on RT. As a fan of the franchise it makes me happy that this one looks like it won't be terrible.

They said those exact words but then had nowhere else to go. I think the end was the worst part, tornado miles away and things like a trolley are getting pulled in but people are fine, and don't get me started on the truck.
Completely unbelievable and unrealistic, very predictable, the usual "reimagining" of the original with plot changes only changed slightly even down to her wearing the exact same outfit as Helen Hunt at one point (I assume was done on purpose) I like to think of it as taking a movie old people (That's us now) loved and updating it for the new generation.
With all that it was a fun watch but not something I would watch again like the original.

Watched The Passion of Darkly Noon, what a fantastic 90s film. Stars Brendan Fraser, Viggo Mortensen and Ashley Judd, the story is about a guy (Fraser) that gets lost in the woods and is rescued and nursed back to health by Callie (Judd). While being nursed back to health, he starts to have feelings for Callie and when her BF (Viggo) comes back Fraser's character starts losing his mind until the amazing ending. Fraser's character was raised by very strict fundamentalist religious parents which plays a part in how he reacts to the world. I was honestly blown away, it's a little slow to build but that ending just goes for it. Fraser is fantastic as always in this.

It was fkn terrible.
I left halfway through the first time. Was just kind of bored and I felt like doing something else so I scooted. Was when they were talking to the bald chick in the Thunderdome or whatever that stupid set was supposed to be.
Then talked to a few people who were all, 'it gets awesome right after that!'. Okay, I'll go again.
Went on Tuesday - came late so I wouldn't have to suffer through the first part again and timed it pretty well for maybe 10 minutes of overlap from what I had already seen. OMG. What a ####ty ####ing movie.
Did I miss the memo on this multi-verse BS or something where we're just supposed to accept it as something other than the laziest writing tool ever to exist? Could all you basic bitches stop cheering on this drivel so they stop making this absolute garbage?
It was just so dumb. Worst part is some dope of the highest order fkn clapped at the end. Like, what? You're clapping like a barking seal for the dumbest movie ever that has already been made 100 times for all the other non-thinking losers out there?
Have some respect for yourselves and enough with the nonsense. I have boycotted Marvel movies for a long time now, but I did like Deadpool a bit. Not this, though. Might just be Reynolds'd out, too. I get it. You talk fast and break the fourth wall. Yuk yuk yuk that's so funny.

I know you said you boycotted marvel movies, and it sounds like you’re on the fence about this one, but there’s so many great Easter eggs if you see it in theatres a third time.
You should totally give it just one or two more chances

Perhaps Marvel movies just aren't for you... yet perhaps they are because you keep watching them and writing reviews that go against popular opinion on them. But you apparently hate them so maybe don't watch them, or maybe you do like them but you hate to follow popular opinion? You are such a confusing character here. I never know if you're serious or trolling.

Alien: Romulus was absolutely amazing. It perfectly captures the vibe of a film from the 1980s, both in its visuals and overall feel - and I mean that as the highest compliment.

Alien Romulus was pretty good. I thought the cast was a strength. I’d place it 3rd as far as Summer flicks go behind Deadpool & Wolverine and Twisters.
Definitely worth a watch, and it was the first time in a long time I opted for D-BOX seats (booked them a while ago)…which made things interesting, because I’m nursing some cracked ribs, so it made the jump scares have that extra bit of spice.

Watched Casablanca again yesterday and I enjoyed it even more than the last time I watched it. There are so many great scenes, the one where the Nazis are singing their national anthem and then Laszlo starts singing the French anthem is one of the most moving scenes in cinema history. I miss when films had earnestness to them.
