Hard to argue Crosby wasn't the best player.

During the game, I wondered to myself if I would rather see McDavid score the winning goal for Canada or see McDavid be a minus player with a blunder on the winning goal for Sweden.

I'm not sure which I would like more. It is great Crosby took care of business and neither had to happen.

McDavid was either trying to go 1 on 5, or he is doing nothing when he doesn't have the puck.

Sid is always in the game whether he has the puck or not. Parked by the net and supporting his teammates.

This kind of tournament play really shows what McDavid is. He just isn’t in the same conversation as players like MacKinnon and Crosby………period.

Imagine him screeching like that in this Canada dressing room? Would be laughed out of the arena by the real leaders there.

I prefer this

But Canada won. Crosby was player of the game. And McDavid was a minus player.

All is well in the hockey world

Was discussing McBaby in a group chat with the fellas. One of my buddies is pretty connected in sporting equipment wholesale and had this tidbit to share from a hockey rep. Take it with a grain of salt. Just thought I’d share.

“XXXXXX told me that McTantrum is kind of in his own dome right now. So disgusted with his game that he is tinkering with 7 different blade patterns over 2 or 3 different flex variations in his stall - on top of never ending issues with his skates that only 0.0000001% of pro players notice (or maybe it is a figment of his imagination). Generally ok, but gets a little goofy/cranky about these things when he is pressing. “

Just find it funny that it’s never his fault. It’s gotta be the blade, no the shaft, no the skates, maybe it’s the laces or the jockstrap?

Maybe it explains the always grabbing the other players’ stick. “Let me try! Waaah! I’ll fall down if you don’t let go!”

More seriously, none of those adjustments do anything to affect mctantrum’s basic M.O. which is to float on the back check and make odd reads.

Looked like he went for a retaliatory punch to Dahlin's family jewels at the end there after he got sat down. Dahlin must be pretty strong to be able to knock him over like that from a static position.

naaahhhh... mctantrum just naturally dives the second anyone touches him... it's his instinctive reaction!

McDavid should have received a penalty there. That wasn't your typical crosscheck you see during puck battles.

That was full windup and it was high.

Totally was the first thing I thought too. Is he trying to crosscheck everyone in the face? Because that was damn close. Very easily could have slid up Dahlin's shoulder into his chin.
