I can't see BC losing this game. This is one team I do not want to face in the West final.

B.C. is not a good football team. They just have the Stamps number lately.
It's 21-14 Hamilton at the half in a game they don't even need to win.

Hamilton has played the whole game with its starters.
Lions look like they will find a way to win.

Wow, that's sucks for the Eskimos tonight. They had a chance to be in the playoffs with Lions losing to the TigerCats until late in the game. The Lions won so they need to win vs the struggling Riders. Unfortunately, the Riders decided that instead of resting their starter, they would rather win before the playoff. So the Lions won and the Eskimos lost. Lions will play the Riders next week in the Western Semi Final while the Eskimos will clean up their locker room.

I think the Riders win was very motivated in that they wanted nothing to do with the Eskimos in the playoffs. I saw this result coming.
Frankly it makes me happy as a) B.C. is a better team than Edmonton and deserved to make it and b) Edmontonians should be selling their Grey Cup tix now

The only thing that concerns me is that as the 2nd half went on you could tell that the Riders were getting their mojo back on offence. They are a good offensive team when DD is on his game. But they still cannot stop the run and the Lions should game plan around that. I just hope the Riders and Lions beat the crap out of each other next week. Stamps will have a tough game regardless of who comes to town on the 21st.

Good for Andy Fantuz. First Canadian to lead the league in receiving yards since the Sponge did it in the mid 90s.

Al Cameron is tweeting that Jon Cornish will be good to go for the West final, but Jesse Lumsden has a torn ACL (surgery scheduled for Nov. 15th)

Fan 960 reporting Drew Tate has re-signed with the Stampeders. Pretty surprising given he may have been sought after in the free agent market. I think he has a chance at being a very good CFL QB however his arm strength concerns me a bit.

Great news! I, too, am a little surprised he didn't take a shot at the free agent market. The best part of this news is that with an established #1 ahead of him, Tate has basically said, 'I'm content being the backup guy here until Burris is done.' I think it probably also helps that they've made a serious effort to get him into games, and the way they've treated other quality backups (like Cornish) is a positive too.

yep, great news, although I had already heard about it unofficially on friday. Tate could be great, he has developed well so far. good to have a replacement in case Burris gets hurt and for when he retires. when Ottawa comes back into the league in 2013 there will be an expansion draft, and a there is a good chance teams will only be able to protect one QB, so it will be interesting to see where we are at then. likely trading one or the other, or Burris leaving. I can't see us letting Tate go unprotected in the draft.
of course, its still a few years away

Remember that Hank is only 2 years younger than Dickenson. He'll be 38 in 2013.
Over the next couple of years, Tate will likely take over the starter role from Hank.

didn't realize Hank is getting up there, yea he definitely could be retiring around then anyways, as he has said he doesn't plan on playing til he is 40. but you never know, QBs in the CFL tend to get better in their late 30s.
I just heard Tate on the fan and am impressed by the kid, he seems to want to stick around and be a starter here once Burris is done. so nice to have a good backup being groomed to be a our future starter

That's great news. Should be a fun All-Star game this year.
Wait...
