I hope I have it wrong and he's scores 30 next year.

Elite play driver though.
19th in the last three seasons for xGF60. I don't care who scores the goal (Mangiapane or a linemate) if he keeps that up good things happen.
He and Blake Coleman are both in the top 50 for forwards as a negative correlation to created vs results offensively.
He's been a 15% shooter for three seasons and now he's 9%. Seems like a lot of data suggesting a pretty unlucky season.

Markstrom is finally playing well now but I'm of the belief it would be incredibly risky to bring both of these goaltenders back next season under the assumption that they will be better. Given the age of key players there's just too much on the line to assume that next season will be better for both of them. I think you have to take a hard look at graduating Wolf as I don't think he has much left to prove in the AHL. I also think that the organization needs to take a look at the goaltending coaching and see if that's an area that can be improved as their track record is pretty poor since Sigalet joined the organization.

Not to mention the PR side of bringing up the top prospect for an older team.
Pelletier has had a great impact (on ice and off), Wolf would just look good from a change standpoint.

It is so obvious that the right strategy would be to trade Vladar in the offseason, and run with the vet and the rookie. Wolf has run his course in the AHL and it is time to graduate to the backup role.
Problem is that they extended Vladar this year, and his contract extension hasn't even kicked in yet. I fear they will want to keep him for another year. I guess a deadline trade would be okay, but IMO, it should happen this summer.

His contract and career numbers aren't bad though. Teams that have gaoltending issues in the POs may well take a chance on him.

I don't think that will matter much if they feel Wolf is ready. I've said this before but when they re-signed him I always thought it was just in case they didn't think Wolf was ready and needed another year in the AHL.

If a 30 year old Rittich can get signed to be a backup in this league after the awful season he had in Nashville, there has to be teams that would be interested in a big, 25 year old goaltender in Vladar.

Plus, from Vladar's point of view, I think he just wanted to get an extension done and have some stability for the next few years. I'm sure he'd be open to going to another team if it meant he gets a more prominent role there. Will be interesting this off season to see how this one shakes out.

My guess is that Vladar is not moved in the offseason, but Tre will be planning to consider it during the season based on Wolf's training camp and summer and how Markstrom performs next season.
I'm a big fan of Wolf but the Flames aren't going to enter the season with a backup that they haven't gotten a chance to look at long enough against NHL opponents. They could do that this season by calling Wolf up, but that only happens when the Flames are pretty clearly out of the race and I don't think they will be in that spot the remainder of this season since I believe they will squeeze into a playoff spot.

Oh I am certain there would be teams that are interested in him, my point was that I am not sure the Flames will be ready to move him

We just don't want a 3 headed monster in net. And I think Wolf needs a look soon. Vladar is the odd man out.

How do you put up the numbers that Wolf does and continue to beat those numbers the next season some incredible stuff. Like his worst season would be elite.
