Seems like it's a point of discussion because it's dictating the game so much?
I get it. It is natural to complain about reffing. It just is too much for me. I periodically pop in to the GTs but nothing ever changes it seems. Anyway, no big deal. I still like to read the PGTs. It's the GTs that I avoid.
My biggest concern is this is the 2nd game in a row where the Stars are the much better team 5v5.
Was hoping the Flames would've realized they got lucky with the W last game and came back ready to go today. I do think they've been much better and have had a higher energy level, but they're playing a risky game playing this poorly 5v5.
9 high danger chances against that period and only 1 for.
xGF% of 31.96%. Last game it was 33.09%.
Gotta wake up 5v5

I think the flames are playing WAY better 5 on 5 compared to last game. In fact, outside of a few clusters of time, I feel they've dictated the play.

Agreed. This game is down 20 minutes here - this has to be their best 5v5 period of the playoffs. I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a period in a long, long time. Intense game to watch, it’s been fun!
GFG!!

The intermission crew discussing something doesn't necessarily say much. I think I may have read a complaint once or twice about them talking up Mcdavid when he wasn't even playing. Just saying.
The issue with the reffing is definitely the inconsistency. I really don't know what the standard is in this series. There have been calls that seem really weak against both teams, and then some plays that seem like they should be penalties but aren't treated as such.
League wide, I think it's maybe the biggest issue the NHL has. The NHL has done a really good job developing the league overall during the last couple of decades, but reffing is one area that still feels like it doesn't work. Standards change all the time and it often feels a bit random.

Kill the penalty and if they do.. penalties should be even. Anyone not expecting the Stars to get powerplays after the Flames had a few at the start of the second period doesn't know how NHL reffing usually works.
