Very few shows consistently get better each episode.
Man Men pulled it off. Battlestar Galactica did it for a few seasons. Game of Thrones from season 1-4. Hannibal. There's probably more, but those are all that jump out at me.
Mando is on a role so far.
Battlestar was one of the best sci fi series that I've ever seen until the last year, then they got too enamored with all of the religious themes of the show. I would hope that Mando doesn't last enough seasons to wear out its welcome.
Its brilliantly written, the characters are like a labor of love to me, in that the actors just seem so vested in them.
Agents of Shield was that strange series that started weak and then by the end was incredibly strong.
The Mandalorian just needs to avoid too much fan service, and maybe stay away from a full fledged Jedi influence. I love the idea of the spaghetti Western man with no name story. I also hope that they avoid the temptation to keep the Child with him to the point where he starts talking, or becomes the ultimate plot hole solver with incredible powers for the force solving everything. Jango Fett had one of the best descriptors of this story in AOTC. "I'm just a simple man trying to make his way in the Universe" A line reflected by his son Bobba. This is the Mandalorian Story in a nut shell.

I waiting for the series that uses the phrase "No s%%%"
Quote:
Adama: It's not unknown. I know where it is! Earth - the most guarded secret we have. The location was only known by the senior commanders of the fleet, and we dared not share it with the public. Not while there was a Cylon threat upon us. For now we have a refuge to go to. A refuge that the Cylons know nothing about! It won't be an easy journey. It will be long and arduous. But I promise you one thing. On the memory of those lying here before you, we shall find it. And Earth will become our new home. No S%%%
Galactica Crew: No s%%%!

West Wing. Started pretty strong, got better as first season went on, started S2 with a bang and basically was the best thing on TV for three years.
BSG had a very good first season, an amazing second season, then a very good first half of season 3 then it sort of went off the rails. That's what happens when you tell everyone "they have a plan" and you don't actually have a plan.
I don't actually think this has gotten better with each episode. The Marshal was still the best episode of the whole show. It was nearly perfect. There has been a lot of fan service since then that has perhaps excited some people because OMG AHSOKA and OMG BO KATAN and OMG THE SEISMIC CHARGES FROM AOTC, but leaving aside that stuff, on their merits, they've been about as good as most of the season 1 episodes. Which is to say, very good stuff, but the peak so far is still S2E1.
EDIT: Oh, I'll just leave this here.

That would be awesome, and might be a way for Disney to keep attracting talent to their voice actors... as a potential gateway to live action.
Incoming Freddie Prince Kanaan!!!! HEART THROB!!!

Also looks like season 2 of the Mandalorian Gallery starts streaming on Christmas Day. Appears to be 8 episodes as well.

You see a lone X-Wing.. ok that could be Ahsoka she’s probably down with the new republic, or it could still be Windu hanging out somewhere.. then they purposely show us the first shot of the lightsaber through a security camera, it’s white, large hooded robe, could be Ahsoka. But then I thought, that’s only one saber, and she usually holds her short saber in that hand, and that’s a long saber. Then they showed the green saber, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?! THERES NO WAY, THERES NO WAY!
Then they showed the gloved hand, and the hilt, THATS LUKE SKYWALKER’S LIGHT SABER ARE YOU KDIDING ME !??!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!
Then just pure awesomeness ensued. Couldn’t believe it. Watched it with my three year old who’s been hit or miss based on the episode but he was right into it. Thought Luke was so cool. He even has his lightsaber and went and grabbed it and the timing couldn’t be better as there’s a Jedi Luke action figure wrapped under the tree right now. What an amazing experience. Thank you Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for making Star Wars great again.
And kudos to Hamil for keeping that under his hat, I’m so happy for him. This character obviously means “more than we could ever know” to him.. and he wasn’t completely satisfied with his exit in the sequels. Glad he got at least one more crack at it, at least one more!
Crazy. Never when this show started in a million years did I think I’d get to see live action Bo Katan, Ahsoka, Boba Fett!?!! And Luke FREAKING Skywalker! Especially not in one season! Incredible.
Oh ya, and R2!!! I love how excited R2 gets when he sees Grogu, recognizing the species from his time on Dagobah. Just awesome.

I'm about 6 episodes in and really enjoying it. Bit of a lull right now but overall this is the first Star Wars thing I've enjoyed since Return of the Jedi.
Is it odd though that my favorite part of each episode is the end credits?

From Luke to the fighting action, Everything about this was awesome.
My feeling is that this is the end of the line for The Child, off to train with Luke, probably won't see him again as he's now in training, they'll find a way to fill in the where's the kid during the events of the PT.
The next stage is going to be around the Mandalorian war, and I fully expect that Bo and Mando are going to be on opposite sides of that battle.
A Fett series could be cool, however I'm wondering if its going to be a series of shorts.
Too many thoughts to put down on electrons right now.
