If you’re offside when the ball is played. You’re offside.
Even this is confusing. So you are saying he was onside then?

He would have been offside. When the ball was played, he was behind the last defender.

But the quote says players are always involved. Should we call offside every time a player is in an offside position no matter how far away from the play they are? Mane is onside when Firmino plays it.

Mane was in an offside position.
He was actively trying to play the ball from an offside position.

That is the way it was called. If you were on the pitch, even if injured, you were offside. It was a clear rule with no nuance.

Just like every player in hockey is offside if they are on the wrong side of the blue line when the puck enters the zone.

It’s easier to call.

No surprise poor goalkeeping is what leads to the first goal. Leno has been shaky all game.

That was a really nice finish by Lacazette and a great ball by Iwobi.

Iwobi much more effective than Mkhitaryan.

Do not miss at all.

That was a very enjoyable game. I like the way both managers approach the game.

I don’t know if anyone else watched the Spurs/Wolves game today, but it was exciting. Spurs were up 3-0 and had to hold on for the 3-2 win. Truthfully, they should have had a draw or maybe lost as Wolves had chances and just couldn’t score. Both keepers made some huge saves and while he didn’t earn them the point today, Patricio made a couple enormous saves and looks worth that huge fee. Wolves should stay up this year I think. They’re a pretty good team and there are surely a number of worse teams in the league this season.

Spurs make their way into the top four with the three points. I’m glad to see it (obviously) because this has been a rough stretch. Next up a must-win against PSV if they have any hope to stay in the CL, and a win there likely gives them a Europa League berth.

Yes, that was a fun one. When the Spurs went up 3-0 they had exactly 3 chances and scored on all of them (Patricio made some great saves later). That's what the Wolves lack - finish. They should buy Lukaku from MU. So many missed chances, plus the botched offside call.

Oh yeah, that was definitely a good goal and not offside. It was made up for when the guy was touched and flopped down for the penalty later though. I guess there was contact.

They should force City to play 10v11 the rest of the match. They'd probably still score 6 though.

City could play with 10 the whole season and they'd still win the league.

Lovely. Just.....lovely.

It has become something of a rite of passage for professional footballers, to have a strange, questionable and/or slightly insulting statue erected in your honour.

Some big names have been given with some even bigger eyesores in the past, and now Mohamed Salah can count himself as a member of the club.

While the skill involved cannot be denied, fans were quick to point out that the sculpture bore an uncanny resemblance to several other well-known figures, including Art Garfunkel and actor Daniel Stern, who played Marv the burglar in "Home Alone."

you've only really made it as a world class footballer once you get a terrible statue that will be mocked forever. Congrats!

My biggest takeaways from these things is I should give it a shot, even as crappy as I am artistically there's no way I could do any worse.
