Bouwmeester is the NHL's version of Jay Cutler.
In his current role as a number three defenseman to anchor a second pairing, he's more than adequate. He's actually very good at that.
He'd actually make a perfect Oiler. He appears to have talent and therefore hype that make him out to be a lot more than he really is. But he lacks that extra drive that separates the elite from the above average. I don't think any of it is actually Bouwmeesters fault, but it's how he gets viewed.
I still like watching him lose though...makes me feel better about the Flames getting rid of him. Had the Flames been smart enough to pick Shea Theodore with the St.Louis first they had, I'd really love that trade.

They also showed a point last night at the end of the 2nd period where he was moaning at Hitchcock for not giving him much PP time, only got 8 seconds of the 1 minor the Hawks took.

If the Blackhawks win tonight, Hitchcock will likely be looking for work tomorrow.

The game plan for my guys is really pretty simple:
Weather the early push, to frustrate them and stem the positive emotion, stay the hell out if the box, for God/Allah/Elvis/Buddah's sake, COVER #91, get a goal on a counter attack rush, watch those Blues #######s fold.
That has to be the game plan, if the 'Hawks are to advance.

Hawks are a crazy good team... down and out to push game 7, again. You'd have to be crazy to pick the Blues to pull this one out.

If the Blues as expected choke tonight I wonder if Hitchcock gets his pink slip as early as tomorrow if only to appease a fan base that will likely be out for blood.

In his last 11 seasons as coach Hitchcock has made it out of the first round once, and that was in his first season in St. Louis when they were swept by the Kings in the 2nd round.
Wouldn't at all be surprised to see him gone if they lose tonight.

Screw it, I'm pulling for the Blues in this one, if only so we can stop talking about what a disappointment Hitchcock's teams are in the playoffs. I want a new story for once.

I don't mind which way this goes. Hawks-games are always entertaining, but on the other hand having some new teams go forward would be interesting. Both are good options.

No doubt about it. This would be the third first-round home-ice exit in a row. If they lose tonight I doubt he even makes it out of the building.
They should keep Hitch for the regular season and then when the playoffs start give him a 3 month holiday and replace him with someone else. Just for the luck if nothing else.

I like the Blackhawks tonight, the Blues seem to be in disarray and the Blackhawks are built for pressure games like tonight.

I think Dallas has a better shot against the Blues so rooting for a big game from Tarasenko.

I could be wrong, but don't you mean 4th consecutive? I think they had home ice against LA in 2012 as well......
