It was a pretty good episode I thought. Eventually the group had to decide to fight back, I just didn't think it was gonna be until the season finale.
Also, I was hoping to see Eugene get his head bashed by Lucille. I can't stand looking at his half crying/half sad face anymore. God, it's so awful.

Didn't he also hop the fence and get inside?

Eugene used to annoy me, but now I think he's kind of endearing. Helps he's played by Josh McDermott.

First of all, he probably shouldnt wear that Priest's Collar while on Guard duty, you can see that thing from a mile away.

That was Gold, whats even better is that the actor who plays Eugene seems to have a good sense of humour as he regularly tweets in to Talking Dead.

I thought the bullet making ability was going to be a surprise advantage for Rick's group when they eventually got tired of eating #### and decided to fight back.
Didn't think Negan would find out about it and steal Eugene.
Good one Rosita. Good thing for her she's hot.

According to Facebook, Maggie was wearing Glenn's hat and possibly fingerless gloves like Abraham. A neat little tribute.

Something I just thought about with the guy who followed them from the houseboat. I wonder if that is how he recruits people into his own group. Finds the ones brave enough to ignore warning signs, and also smart/brave enough to make it onto the houseboat through the lake of walkers.

That is a cool theory. I like it!

That is a very interesting take, so does he keep re-stocking the boat. I can't believe that place has remained hidden for so long.
That also doesn't explain the 2 people dead on the boat.

Pretty sure a lot of the credit here goes to JDM, who is absolutely owning every scene he's in. The writing's been fine for him, but he's just next level good.

It seems to me that it's more about demonstrating power. If Negan is dominating a bunch of outposts and towns run solely by weaklings like Gregory, eventually people are going to say "if only we had someone with a backbone leading us, they'd stand up to Negan".
In contrast, if he's got the biggest badass in town willing to bow down and lick his boots, everyone knows that there's really no hope that the situation could improve. It's a calculated risk, and usually probably a pretty good bet to make given that Negan knows Rick has two kids, and may be unwilling to put them in danger given Negan's... er, particular take on retributive justice.
Which leads to a question. Had Negan, say, cut off Carl's arm in recompense for shooting at his men, promising to come back for the other arm if anyone in Alexandria so much as looked at him in a manner that displeased him, would Rick have had his epiphany about fighting back, or would he have been cowed?

While I like and appreciate the idea, I think it is extremely unlikely with the corpses on the boat already and the bullet holes in the paddle boat. My guess is it a person/group that had been decimated by the Saviors like the women at Oceanside.
