Getting so bored with this team. Huge offense, brutal pitching, many errors. 800 years out of the playoffs, just do something. Anything. I guess AA will just sit on his hands until it's too late and lament how things slipped away. You're in the race.............do something. At least take a swing.

I'd be all for the Jays recalling Norris and dropping Dickey entirely.

The pitching is soo bad though how do you fix it? Bringing in one guy isn't gonna do it.

Yup to CG above...get rid of Dickey for a bag of balls or push him to the bullpen for a one out type of guy.
No doubt we need an overhaul...but at least try, show the fans you are serious. They need to trade Bautista or EE for pitching.

Agreed, Everyone has known since the beginning of the season that the team needs pitchers, so what does AA do? nothing, nothing at all, but I'm sure he is hard at it searching the waiver wire.

I'm fine with trading Norris if it means I never have to hear about his stupid van again

Dickey is pitching today, I may not bother watching the game.

No, they don't. That's robbing Peter to pay Paul and shortly after you were to do that you (or someone like you) would start saying that we need to trade some pitching for a slugger.

We do need better (and more) pitching but we can't have it come at the expense of a roster player and certainly not ones as valuable as Bautista and EE. It's irrelevant whether the Jays get their wins from hitting or pitching so long as they get them.

I'd be fine with trading EE. I think he's now a post-apex player.

I'd be fine with trading EE... but not in-season where finding someone to replace his bat is toublesome. In the offseason we can go hunting for surplus OF/1B/DH and mitigate the loss of his bat. The asset price to do that then will be much smaller then now.

Semi-related... I wish we still had Adam Lind. He's having imself a real nice year.

Also: Is it just me or is Dickey always out of sync with the offense? I mean in that he'll pitch a very good game and the Jays lose 2-1 or he'll pitch a turd and the Jays lose 10-8.

Exciting team to watch this year with a lot of things to like but a few things have driven me insane:

1. It's either my imagination or this team loves hitting into double plays. It's almost like they go out of their way to hit the ball in the dirt with a runner on. x2 when the game is close. My god, work the count once in a while. I've started naming them gidpEE's.

2. The brain farts on the base paths and fielding is just brutal. I think there have been 2-3 plays of runners this month either not stopping or not running around second/third when they should have. Just stuff a 12 year old is taught to do. I know Reyes is a sub par SS, but seriously... catch a ground ball when the game is on the line. And Pillar the other night in Chicago... real bad time to lose a fly ball. Colabello should not be allowed to throw a baseball past the cut off man. I know these things happen and that's the beauty of baseball but this team does it at the worst possible moments... except Donaldson, he is exempt for any and all criticism.

3. Not enough Kawasaki. I don't believe too much into team chemistry in baseball... there's a part of it where it may help but boy, every time that kind of crazy gets called up they go on a run it seems like. I make an exception for my non-belief in baseball team chemistry for Mune. They need more guys who play the game properly (albeit not very well).

This is like 3 years in a row where come the start of July the team basically falls out of the playoff picture. The offence is coming back down to Earth for sure.

At this point I'd be really hesitant for AA to give up top end prospects for a rental like Cueto or the Shark. Do we realistically think 1 arm like that will push them over the hump?

I wish AA had the job security to take a step back, let these young pitchers develop, and build what we hope can be a perennial playoff contender. I'm scared that with this playoffs or bust attitude that we're going to misfire on another trade and fall short of the dance yet again. And watch the young pitching that we trade away turn into front line starters as early as next season.

Bah, frustrating time to be a Jays fan.

Not sure the Jays have the prospects any longer to build a contender while waiting for them to develop.

Jays need to find quality starters not rentals...

I believe Buehrle has stated he is retiring after this season

Dickey is almost done....

Jays need to decide the path forward... if they wait then trade Bautista and EE...
