Just one thought I had today...maybe there is no assassin. Maybe the mafia have some powers like Octothorpe had; one time kills. Maybe they opted to use them right away, and now maybe we will see only one kill at night.
I know, I seem obsessed with the assassin, but two dying each night is bad.
There is no reason I can see for the mafia to kill blaster or Octothorp. If one of them dies in the night then there must be an assassin.

The other thing I was thinking was that Captain Crunch seems to be a flavour writer, like what ... Was it street pharmacist was?
Perhaps there were two in the game, one player, one mafia/management.
