Gracious.
"Calgary" may as well be silkscreened on it looks that cheap.

Complete with the Sask Riders "tramp stamp", to boot, on the back.

And why deface the Flames logo by using it as some masked (Hitmen?) chick's hair?

I think the logo is actually pretty cool, why not use it as a real logo instead of a shoulder patch?

Every team in the CWHL has the city word mark on the front and the logo on the shoulders

Apparently it is a requirement by the league to use a word mark, and looks like the other teams don't have a logo
Spoiler!

Awesome logo. Kinda reminds me of the ol' Ak-Sar-Ben Knights

Not to sound to mysogynistic but I really couldn't care less about the CWHL. I mean it's great to get more girls involved in grassroots hockey but I feel like this league is going to be an utter failure. The WNBA got a lot more press when it started up and those teams bleed money and are merely kept afloat by the NBA pouring money into it as a sweet tax break. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like I think women don't belong in hockey, in fact I love what Haley Wickenheiser has done, playing in men's leagues in Europe and I love when our girls bring home gold at the Olympics and World Championships. But this league just feels kind of tacky and I just have meh feelings about it. Am I alone?

That wordmark is pretty bad.. Pretty slick logo, though.

I'm posting my design with a few variations tomorrow. I actually think it will be pretty well received. It's a modern and different take with retro color scheme/feel.

Why do you care either way? It's not your money being spent. I mean if you really couldn't care less why even bother to write a post about it?

I believe the intent was to see what the feelings of others were by starting a conversation on the subject. Last I checked, that was a large part of posting on a forum. You know... conversation, different points of view, etc. This is a scenario where it's quite appropriate to question why you even bothered writing a post, since you didn't contribute to any conversation, but rather just attempted to belittle someone because you didn't understand their fairly simple intent.

Regarding those jerseys however, I really enjoy the logo. It's too bad that every team has to have a wordmark on the chest as I think it takes away from that creativity (relegating creative logos to the shoulders).

That's cute. Actually my post addressed the fact that referencing things like the WNBA really makes no sense. The financial success or failure obviously means nothing to him, so why even bother? I saw it as an attempt to knock down the league for no apparent reason. The 'don't get me wrong' part is a great example of the 'no offense but' or 'I have [insert group here] friends' approach. Perhaps I misinterpreted his intent, but so sorry for commenting, as apparently I didn't reach your high standards.

I was referencing the WNBA because it is a similar scenario. The Flames are sponsoring this team, and if my money I pay for tickets to watch the Flames are being used to subsidize a venture that loses money, I don't support that. Just my personal opinion but I don't see this thing gaining any traction long term. By the way, how's the view up there on holier than thou mountain?

It's not a public/gov't project, it's private business. It's not YOUR money once you pay it and you don't get to decide what else the owner of the private business might otherwise invest in.

I believe the Inferno will receive $20,000 a year from the Flames Foundation. That's a little over one dollar per ticket sold to a single Flames game.

Partly cloudy and 24, beautiful day actually. Can see for miles.

And if you don't support it there's an easy solution, stop buying Flames tickets.
