Sahin has been pretty unimpressive so far. I think part of the problem is that he is being used as an advanced midfielder when he does better as a deeper playmaker. I was expecting more from him though.

That's not saying much considering the competition.

Phil McNulty @philmcnulty
Brace yourselves Liverpool fans - you'll be reading lots of reports about Manchester City showing great interest in Luis Suarez. #messenger
Daniel Taylor @DTguardian
The byline on Daily Express story about Man City wanting Luis Suarez is Paul Joyce. That means one thing: it's true. #MCFC #LFC
Phil McNulty @philmcnulty
As @DTguardian rightly says - if name on Suarez-City story is Daily Express's Paul Joyce then you can guarantee that story is correct.
That would be...interesting.

I know Man City makes moves that often don't make sense but with 3 better strikers, probably 4, why add another head case to that team?
Even if Balotelli is going to AC still have better options and Suarez doesn't seem like a guy that would be happy being 4th string

Liverpool's asking price would be massive. Regardless of people's opinion of him, he is our only player that can put the ball in the back of the net on a somewhat consistent basis. Plus, he just signed a 5 year contract, so there is really no rush to move him on.

probably 30 at least
the more I think about it the more it makes sense, Mancini likes to play 3 up top and Suarez would be great for that on either wing
If they do get rid of Balotelli than have Aguero/Tevez/Suarez up top, Dzeko off the bench

There is no sense in selling Suarez. I mean, if they sell Suarez it'll be for so much cash they'll just turn around and try and buy Falcao. Now, in that case, why wouldnt City just buy Falcao?
And if Falcoa isnt available who the hell are Liverpool going to replace Suarez with?

Money? Torres told him it was an interesting place? For kicks? Chloroform and burlap solve everything?
We can all dream....

I think that is part of the point. Suarez is probably the best striker out there who would be willing to play for Liverpool. That makes him a lot more valuable to us then anyone else. I wouldn't sell him for less then 60mil, an even then it wouldn't be until summer.

I don't mean that to say lol lets all laugh at lollerpool
but the history angle doesn't seem to matter with players anymore, and they are probably the 6th most desirable club for a player to go to at this point
Add to the fact that Henry has shown no willingness to spend in the last 18 months
Falcao will be a chelsea player, only thing up for debate is January or next summer
and ya that's why they must keep Suarez, they need to be close to the CL (i.e Arsenal/Spurs) or in the CL to attract that type of player
if they sell Suarez they have to take a chance on a lesser known player, it's a risk

Blatter speaks:
Quote:
A key excerpt from a book written by World Cup 2018 bid committee member Sebastian Coe landed with a kind of soundless thud late last month in the English football news cycle. It details how FIFA president Sepp Blatter remarked that while the bid always had a "smell of death" (according to Coe himself), it also failed in part because Blatter believes English football is "run by idiots."
It doesn’t matter that it's not exactly for the vague reasons Coe lays out, which include "... the unwillingness of English clubs to release players for international duty," the "purchasing power of the English game -- big-name clubs buying up players from all over the world" and "a national federation that, at the time of the bid, had no chairman and no chief executive."
While the league has brought an undeniably exciting brand of football to the world, it has come at a sizable cost. Its lack of financial safeguards and aggressive transfer market activity have led to a situation in which many of the biggest clubs in England either spend well in excess of club turnover on the back of deep-pocketed owners (Manchester City), or were purchased with leveraged funds with a significant portion of club revenues siphoned off to make interest payments (Manchester United). The financial inequality between big and small clubs has meant some ambitious owners have spent well above their means in the hopes of future success.
This has in turn led to financial chaos. On average, more than half of the twenty teams in the Premier League post annual financial losses. In recent years the number has been as high as 16. Since 2004, 13 of the 92 clubs in the Football League and the Premier League have gone into administration.

Interesting read all around, but suspiciously lacking in any alternatives or solutions.

The PL has meetings this weekend to basically put in their own FFP which certain clubs (Man U/Arsenal/Spurs and most of the rest) are for and certain others (Man City/Chelsea/QPR) are against
which will be interesting
especially with the new tv deal starting in next year bringing in 5b in revenue the next 3 seasons
