So what about buns? Nothing more disappointing than going through the trouble of making your own burgers only to put them on a dempsters bun.
Cobbs bakery doesn't seem to have much that would compliment a burger. Any other smaller bakeries in town that have a solid hamburger bun?

Safeway bakery actually has petty good buns. Not the hamburger buns, but the ones in the bulk bins. Go in before noon and get the fresh ones.

Lots of options for good bunnage. Glamorgan bakery, or Gunners on 17th SE would be two to start with.
I also love a burger using toasted sourdough. Unconvential but fantastic.

For good close to home bun Co-op sells Ace Bakery buns that if fresh are quite good. I get those when I am not in the mood to drive far for a hamburger bun.

I tried Clive burger the other night. It was alright, but you would think at a supposedly "premium" burger joint they would toast the fataing bun!

I'm sure it's been mentioned in the thread before but Burger 320 in Bridgeland makes a hell of a burger.

I concur fully, just went there on Friday and was quite pleased. The parmesan fries were good too, and gelato to finish it off was delicious.

No love yet for the bacon portabella mushroom melt Wendy's has brought back again? I can't eat enough of those things when they're around.

One of my favorites, except I hate that bun. Do you think they will give me a hard time if I ask for the classic bun?

Nope, I usually get it with the regular bun.

I always ask for the classic bun. The brioche/pretzel bun craze needs to die.
That said, they've changed the sauce since last year as well, and they just aren't half as good as they used to be.

Had one last week. Waaaaay too salty, and I'm not afraid of using salt either.

As I've gotten older I've become less fond of the processed cheese sauces you get on burgers like this.

I agree. Although I still find that processed cheese slices are preferable to real cheddar cheese slices on some burgers.

I am not sure. But why in the commercials do the mushrooms don't look anything like portabello mushrooms. More like canned button mushrooms.
edit: Apparently there are "portabello" AND "portabella" mushroom. They don't look like "portabella" mushrooms either.

A quality processed cheese slice can be fine on a burger but a lot of these sauces and lesser quality slices have just don't have a pleasant texture and taste of real food.
