Wow, where's MOON at? STL vs. DET II?
I still like Milwaukee to win it all, Phillies need to make some changes, go get a Joe Torre or sign Pujols and deal Howard, they won a world series 4 years ago and have improved every year since, with declining results.

one of my best friends is a Brewers fan (our only consolation growing up was that we were lonely together), now a large group of people we know are cheering for Rangers/Brewers because we're the only two people in the country that would actually care

So if this rain delay persists & they postpone the game, what exactly happens? I didn't care enough to follow when it happened in the DET-NYY series & I'm at BP (naturally checking out the high school tail) and can't hear the commentary. If the rain keeps up, do they continue tomorrow & then follow with game 2?

I just thought it would have been interesting if Howard would have hit the ball deep in the outfield on what would normally have been a double.

I was in the middle of nowhere with very limited Internet.
Great to see the Cards beat the ########## Phillies.

Bleh, Tigers are in deep trouble, seems like the offense has dried up. They need to rattle off two in a row to have much of a chance.

Ya the sad part about the Tigers are that they have pitched on par to the Rangers staff/bullpen, just their offense hasn't had the timely hitting they got during the Yankees series. They left an eye-sore of men on base in yesterday's game, and with a hit or two could have blown that game wide open. Problem now is, they go home down 2-0, and are playing the next two games like they are game 7's, without Verlander going in either.

Wow I missed the weekend games while traveling but watched parts of the Texas game yesterday. I can't believe walkoff salami! Stupid Texas and their clutch hitting.

How many out when the grand slam was hit? Is it reckless to swing for the fences, when you only need a single?

I don't think there were any outs....so trying to hit a fly ball to the outfield was a totally reasonable thing to do. Whereas making contact, results in a shallow fly ball, or ground out where the run can be thrown out at home.
Even with the infield in...a line drive hit hard at a fielder, likely doesn't kill you because the fielders have a tough time getting back to the base before a baserunner can. So yeah, Cruz should be taking a healthy swing there.

You're right, there were none out and bases loaded... I believe it was even a 2-2 count, when Cruz went ding dong. Pretty healthy hack in a pitchers count.

This was pitchers fault he hit the same pitch just foul. Then took a ball I believe then he threw the same hanging breaking ball as the foul and just jacked it!

4-1 Tigers in the 7th. Hopefully they can hold on. Poor Beltre, keeps getting hit by foul balls, feel kind of bad for the guy.

It would be interesting to see Francona go to the White Sox and Epstein going to the Cubs.

Didn't the White Sox hire Robin Ventura? I can see Epstein firing Quade and hiring Francona. I also think this might be Beane's opportunity to leave Oakland and end up in Boston, he was their 2nd choice behind Epstein.

Woops! Yep Ventura is in Chicago now. Hard to keep track of everything, so much sports going on right now.

Looks like the Diamondback's are not picking up Aaron Hill's option for next season.
This is the only link I could find.

According to John Gambadoro of 620 KTAR in Phoenix, the Diamondbacks will not pick up the $8 million option on Aaron Hill's contract for next season
