gotta give credit to the 10 republicans who did vote for the impeachment, unlike those that agreed that Trump did play a role, but didn't vote to impeach simply due to procedural reasons.

They know they are putting a target on their backs for the radical right...

They started talking impeachment on Trump day one for Russian interference. For Biden it will be something like Ukraine/election fraud.

I don't beleive any democrat official was talking impeachment then.
The press did, but not for any specific crime, just in general. These were not serious talks or predictions.

We talked about it here because the guy was a walking disaster. But no actual thereat was there until the Ukraine call.

Very different from a republican promising to draft articles of impeachment on day 1.

There is of course a vast difference between pundits and politicians speculating that if Trump does a) or b) then he might get impeached, that's was just speculation as to how lousy a President he might be and a congress person saying they will impeach a President for no reason at all on their first day of office

Plus the Russian election interference wasn't quite a thing yet. It got life the following spring. The first events of his presidency were Flynn and Sally Yates firing over the Muslim ban. Mueller started in May.
