I don't think you actually understand how taxes work.

If the province wants to send more money to Edmonton now to keep balance then OEG should call their city council for a cut and not stick their whiny snot covered palms up to Danielle just a few days later. Looks pathetic on them.

I don’t want an arena though.
Why don’t we just have a referendum and let taxpayers decide if this is the most important thing for a majority of Albertans. .

Meanwhile, though, other numbers are being released too—Abacus has a poll dated today that shows the race tied, and Oracle has one from the same date as the one you posted that has the NDP up by 2%. I can only assume you didn’t know about those or presumably you would have posted them too.
And on balance, ALL of this data just confirms—again—that the election is a dead heat from a popular vote perspective and will be very close—as long as the UCP vote doesn’t crumble any further.
Under the top lines, the data contains some really dire news for the UCP. The UCP’s numbers are down by double digits from where it was in the last election and likely is going to suffer a double digit seat drop too under its best case scenario.
In the Abacus poll, just 60% of voters who voted for the UCP in the last election intend to vote for the UCP again. 60%! That’s awful — and reflects a party that has lost the trust of a huge chunk of its own base.
But sure, the UCP just needs to “nail down the Slava swing state.” That’s definitely a reasonable interpretation of the polling data.
Don’t change a thing, it’s going great.

The patented Yoho kiss of death. This has "red wave" written all over it. Any thoughts on who is gonna win this Panthers Bruins game? I'll bet on the opposite team!

Cavalry is doing just fine. One of the best venues in the league (unlike the Stamps or Flames) great food and beverage options, easy access, and excellent atmosphere. It’s well worth a drive for the northern folks, who have, well, nothing.

No having an arena referendum is just as stupid as a needing referendums to raise taxes. We elect representatives who in theory have time to gather more data and have access to experts to build good policy.
Direct democracy is terrible. I’d rather elected representatives do things I don’t like than have things go to referendums.

Referendums are expensive, and really where way to draw the line? We elect people to make those decisions, because most people don’t have the time to delve into the details of such a project.
