I am just leaving Edmonton after being in town for work yesterday so I tuned into their new sports talk station. So far I have heard “Draisaitl and Nurse for Barkov and Ekblad” and “Nuge for a Boston goalie” it is hilarious the host is adamant this core won’t win it is so entertaining to listen to.
Haha! They’re out of their minds if they think draisaitl and nurse are anywhere near as valuable as Barkov and Ekblad. Just brutal.
I hope they try to make a desperate move and end up in another Heatley situation. I was reminiscing on that day recently, just playing video games and listening to the Oiler misery on the radio... a simpler time, but the Oilers remain evernogood.
I still remember the Oiler fans: "He WILL be an Oiler, they're just ironing things out."
I actually think a part of both franchises failures over the past 15 years is in large part due to the incompetence of the other
If either franchise was run well it would force the other to reevaluate .
“At least we’re not Edmonton” is a statement I see all the time.
Culturally the Flames as a team - top to bottom - need to start aiming a lot higher then being “better then Edmonton “
I don’t think so. It’s very unlikely they are being managed based on how the other team is performing. All Canadian teams have been pretty mediocre for the last 15 years, with a few exceptions.
I will say that looking at the highlights was a great reminder why that Nurse deal is amazing … for Flames fans. Even on his goal you would think he was Gaudreau with the way he fled the zone before the puck was out. Like zero defensive accountability on that team.
McDavid does nothing to make his line-mates better. Or play off them. His dig-down-deep, go-to move to take over the game? More crossovers and be a puck hog.
Unreal individual talent. Total joke as a teammate. Shouldn't be in the same breath as Crosby or Makar or even Mackinnon.

Its about time they got a sports station. CHED is literally just a paid Oiler advertisement
If McDavid is playing while injured, it likely means a few things:
1. The oilers management are incredibly stupid. Just beyond incompetent to do that to the “Golden Goose”.
2. It might mean he needs surgery to fully recover from it but management knows they are beyond cooked if they shut McDavid down for >2 months. The docs may have said something like “he probably won’t make the injury worse by playing but will not get back to 100% if he keeps playing.”
3. If their season trend continues for another 2 weeks, they likely throw in the towel and shut McDavid down for however long it takes to heal.
4. If they throw in the towel on this season, that’s likely it for Draisaitl with the oilers. Could see trade request by December with the trade maybe happening by the TDL. Maybe.
