How fortunate are we as Flames fans that our rivals are one of the biggest embarrassments in professional sports? This era of the Oilers are going to be known for squandering one of the greatest talents to ever play the game. They are just so much fun to cheer against, and they make it so easy. 4 1st overall picks in 6(?) years, including McGenerational and they are tied for dead last! We lose our two best players in one season, our new”superstar “ is playing so poorly he’s being benched -and yet, here we are ahead of the Coilers in the standings. How sweet it is.

I have long disliked Woodcroft for how smug he is and how he disrespected Darryl Sutter at the end of the playoff series so watching his emotionless stare after this loss brought me great joy. I sure hope he doesn't get fired as this prolonged misery of losing and fans/media calling for his head is exactly what he deserves.

I actually think a part of both franchises failures over the past 15 years is in large part due to the incompetence of the other
If either franchise was run well it would force the other to reevaluate .
“At least we’re not Edmonton” is a statement I see all the time.
Culturally the Flames as a team - top to bottom - need to start aiming a lot higher then being “better then Edmonton “

I am just leaving Edmonton after being in town for work yesterday so I tuned into their new sports talk station. So far I have heard “Draisaitl and Nurse for Barkov and Ekblad” and “Nuge for a Boston goalie” it is hilarious the host is adamant this core won’t win it is so entertaining to listen to.
