I saw Challengers last night. I was kind of let down to be honest. That might be on me though for not seeing it sooner and letting the hype build it up for me.
It's really more style than substance and some of the talked about sexual dynamics between the main trio really was just a basic af love triangle.

Yeah I agree. I wasn't sure what to expect put of a tennis movie, not sure it was that. The music threw me off a lot throughout the movie. I'll give Zendaya credit though, she a better actress than I thought.
I'll be honest, I finished that movie and the one thought I had was I just watched 2 hours of rich people problems.

Saw Furiosa yesterday. First of any Mad Max I've actually liked. Best character development than in any other. It was a good story. A little long, of course. WTF Hollywood. It's getting absurd. But yeah, good movie.

Re-watched 28 Days Later, probably top 5 zombie film of all time for me. It was so influential it really brought back the zombie genre that had stagnated around that time and then exploded shortly after this came out. The film is so terrifying with a great script there are few zombie films on this level.

I haven't seen or thought of that movie in so long I can't even recall the plot.
Thanks I'm gonna watch it again.

It’s pretty dumb. Movies don’t HAVE to be long guys… they’re making them long now just for the sake of it. Dumb.
I don't think I've ever complained about a film's runtime, if it's good. Great directors struggle to edit down and cut scenes, it has to be incredibly painful to do. I'm fine with anything from the 2 hour mark to 3, love it.
We constantly hear about people binging TV shows, 4 to 6 hours in one sitting for some trash. Nope, give me a concise and well made film just under 3 hours, every single time.

Yes and No
I can binge 3-4 hrs in my PJ's while being able to pause to eat/drink/poo/pee.
A movie needs a bit more planning. If I know it is a long movie I won't generally get a drink, cuz running out of a movie to go pee sucks

Lord knows I have. I remember during 'The Rise of Skywalker' I actually checked my watch..."is this still going??"
And lord knows there are a few Scorsese films that could use a little chopping.
I dont mind a long run-time if its good and tight and theres a reason, but padding out a run-time makes me lose interest especially if its just for filler.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I seriously doubt there is any "padding" involved just for the hell of it when it comes to movie runtimes, the studios and executives would prefer shorter to make them easier to market and to allow more showings in a day at theaters. It's the directors fighting to keep their vision intact and all the scenes they feel are important to the film and story. With Star Wars and comic book stuff it's cramming in everything the fans expect and want.

Did you Watch Zac Snyder's Justice League?
That whole thing was ####ing filler.

If you watch it at home they figure they can do whatever they want because you can pause it, get a sandwich, grab a beer, hit the bathroom, whatever.
So...maybe 'padding' isnt the right word but they definitely dont put as much thought and effort into the editing process.
"Do we need this? Can we cut that? Etc." To tighten the whole thing up.
And I dont think the comparison to TV series is valid. Sure, you can binge a whole bunch of episodes, but those episodes were designed to stand alone so each one is typically pretty tight and valid.

I dont mean to slander Mr. Scorsese but you can't tell me The Irishman needed to be three and a half hours long.
I had to hire someone to make me food and bring me lunch. That film necessitated a Butler.
Sometimes its fine, sometimes it drags on.
Yeah, and what about Killers of the Flower Moon? Long boring-ass do-nothing characterless BS asscrack of a movie. Then old Marty comes on at the end to yap at us? GTFO you dork. Time for retirement.

I will never forget going to see The Green Mile (which IMO wasnt too long, that was brilliant) with my buddies and about 10 minutes in my one friend says:
"I have to go to the bathroom! Naw...I can hold it."
That film had a runtime of over 3 hours.
Narrator: "He could not hold it."
