What a bizarre way to end the game. It was actually pretty exciting at the same time though. Als won.

Does anyone have any idea what happened to Ahmad Carrol? I thought he was signed by the Stamps but I've never seen him play.

Saskatchewan loses again, nice to see.
Last week will be interesting as Edmonton and B.C. battle it out for the final playoff spot.

Call me crazy, but the one team that scares me is BC mainly because of Yonus Davis. He can be a big difference maker in a tight football game. I'd much rather face Edmonton or Saskatchewan.

Were you as appalled when Calgary won the Grey Cup in 2001, coming off an 8-10 regular season record? It's a small league with over half the teams making the playoffs. I'm an Eskimos fan and I can't believe they're still in a position to qualify off the start they had, but it is what it is.
Some of the best stories in this league have been written by teams who "shouldn't have been there." Your Stamps in 2001 for one, and the 1981 Ottawa Rough Riders for another, who were within 3 pts of knocking off the Esks in the GC that year in a monumental upset after winning something like 5 games in the regular season.

Nah. I would like to face Eskimos, Lions, Riders in that order. I don't think the Eskimos could beat the Stampeders even on a good day. The Lions have won the last two but on smoke and mirrors. The first loss was one of Hanks worst days as a pro and the 2nd was all on special teams and a ridiculously easy TD drop at the end of the game. If the Stampeders tighten up on special teams they should be able to easily roll the Lions. The Riders do the deep ball very well and outside of special teams the Stampeders biggest weakness is deep coverage. There's always the rist of Fantuz and Getzlaff having career days against the Stampeders and Durant seems to play at his best against the Stampeders.

The 2001 Stamps were 2nd place 2 points behind the 1st place Eskimos hosted a play-off game and only really behind the Ti-Cats and Bombers in terms of ability.
This years Esks will be 3rd place, host no play-off game will be at best 8 points behind first place and could be as much as 12 points out. There are at least 4 teams that are much better, if not 5.
The difference between these two teams is pretty big and while I do agree the anything can happen can provide good story lines it usually helps if those teams have a little bit of talent and it is due to a complete fluke that they win.
Luckily I don't think we will have to worry about that as the Esks would be hard pressed to beat the Riders in the play-offs and unless the Stamps lose all their players and half their back-ups they have about 0 chance of beating them in the WF.

I'd rather face Edmonton. B.C. seems to have our number at McMahon plus their special teams could shred us.
Edmonton, even with Ricky Ray doesn't scare me one bit. They've played great football but the Stamps match up well against them methinks.
Saskatchewan will always be a tough game because they bring their best against us, but as long as Frank doesn't show up the Stamps should out-coach the Riders enough to win.

Who do you guys think makes the playoffs Edmonton or BC?
Hopefully we end off the regular season with a solid game against Winnipeg and then get ready for the West Finals.

Edmonton holds their own destiny but my money's on B.C. as the Riders want nothing to do with the Eskimos and will do everything they can to beat them this week. I'm not sold on Zabransky just yet and I think B.C. will sneak in.
I still think Saskatchewan comes to McMahon for the west final either way. The playoff upset will come in the East this year.

One of these days they'll be a big CFL-only kicking play made to decide the outcome of a big game, if only because the rules are fuzzy to players in the hear of the moment...such as a hook play to a reciver, and instead of the "ladder", the reciver kicks it with a speeding onside fellow receiver streaking after the ball. I recall the 05 Stamps, in Dunigan's last play as coach/gm, doing the onside punt against BC last play of the game. Refs blew the call and gave BC the win.
Anyways, good thing to have the West wrapped up. Really hope to see BC pull it out, but either them or EDM will give Sask all they can handle. The week of rest and not having to play that extra game against a surging team will help immensely for Calgary.
Get to Edmonton after beating a beat up team from the WSF, and if it is Montreal coming out of the East, not nearly as scary after watching them the 4 of the last 5 weeks. (Cgy blowout, barely holding on against WPG, getting hammered against HAM and then squeaking a comeback against TOR). Sure, the big win vs. Calgary, but the Stamps have looked a lot more lethal, in the time since, even with the 3-2 record in those 5 same weeks.
And, not wanting to get too far ahead here, but thank goodness Commenwealth has field turf and not the concrete skating rink that passed for grey grass up there post-Thanksgiving every year. Makes the Grey Cup an even playing field for an actual football game, as opposed to a competition of who slips the least.

No. That team at least was somewhat viable with a +2 in terms of PF/PA.
Edmonton is now a mere -155 in the same department. Not even close in terms of the same argument. Scored more points than ONE other team and given up miles more than anyone else.
Thanks for asking though.

Should be an interesting Saturday. I don't think think the Lions or Eskies will get a free pass. Riders' don't want to go into the playoffs losing five straight. I can see them using the Edmonton game as a statement game, particularly because they could be playing Edmonton in the semis.
I could see the Tabbies going after the Lions as revenge for last year's East semi-final and the number of ex-Lions on the team will be fired up and ready to go. A fast start for Edmonton and BC would be to their best advantages.
I want BC to squeak into the playoffs. I don't think it matters, though. Should be a Stamps-Als final.
