Whoa, can't believe that there is no more Gonzalez on the Chiefs. He was the face of the franchise. Good move by the Falcons IMO.

I think if Bennett in Dallas was the starter he has the potential. I think of Zach Miller in Oakland. Fasano comes to mind, Witten in 03.

^ in no way am I saying hes a bad player. I just think a 2nd rounder is an overpayment for the age aspect. If ATL was interested in a TE, they should have tried harder for Winslow.

Bad news for Dwayne Bowe and Matt 'The Saviour' Cassell.

I think the injury history aspect for Winslow is more of a risk compared to the age aspect for Gonzalez, and I am a bucs fan

Thats exactly what I was thinking. TG would have been Cassell's biggest target. Not only can he make unbelievable catches, he consistently draws a crowd as well. Which opens up Bowe. Now Bowe will be the one double and triple teamed. I wonder why Pioli would stake his reputation on Matt Cassell, then trade away the most valuable weapon to help Cassell succeed? Obviously the jury is still out on Pioli, but you gotta wonder what the heck he is thinking?

Wasn't TG asking for a trade before the deadline, at least wanting a chance to play for a winner?
Perhaps this is Pioli granting a players wish? But it will make it harder for his team this year.

Yeah, I think Tony was asking for a trade...in a respectful way. Maybe KC is hoping to trade out of the #3 spot and grab Pettigrew later in the round.

Yeah he was asking. Still, with the amount of money the Hunt family has paid him over the years. He would have stayed put and still produced.
As a Chiefs fan, it is sad all around. One of the greatest players in franchise history is leaving to finish his carrer else where. A young team that deperately needs a playmaker is losing its best player. As a fan it is tough to swallow.

Yeah it sucks, but the Chiefs being where they are likely aren't going to be in much of a position to seriously contend in the next two years. So allowing Gonzalez to move to a team where he might get to win a playoff game or two is just granting him his wish. It's better than keeping a guy around who really didn't want to be there. Although TG would never detract from his team and give less than 100% it was time for both parties to move forward. It's football and most of the time the good move is to trade the aging veteran player for youth.

It won't happen. If it does it won't be for decades.
In referance to the Super Bowl in London.

The first few picks are so expensive for a crap shoot I understand why no team would want it.
Put a rookie salary cap in, As long as the regular salary cap doesn't change then the players will still be getting the same amount, there just won't be as much going to unproven rookies.
