I had planned to buy this watch a few months ago but held off in the hopes Rolex introduced a GMT II with a ceramic 'Pepsi' (red and blue) bezel at Basel this year.
They did but only made it available in white gold. It is even more glorious.
I missed this. Good lord, the pepsi GMT. Love that watch.
My TAG Link (quartz movement, no chrono) needs some servicing after 10 years, keeps losing time despite new batteries.
J.Vair has quoted 250-400 to send it back to TAG. City Time (in 5th Ave place) is quoting $150. Has anyone used these guys before? They say they service Rolex / Omega all the time and didn't blink at doing this work.

I've had a couple of automatics done. They're pretty good. Only thing is the wait time might be long. I think one of my watches had to be a month before I got it back.

I've worked with City Time before, Paul is a great guy and does great work. I have no problem recommending him to anyone. His repairs generally carry a 1 year warranty as well, though you may have to confirm with him on that.

How do you insert a picture? I have a wolf of wall street moment from the early 2000's dot Com craze. I was young and drunk and unloaded my entire bank account for one watch because I was certain I will make the money back next week. Never did get any of that money back which could have been useful if I didnt buy this watch. Yet I still have it today because it's gorgeous and reminds of being a reckless youth.
Has anyone bought from Jomashop? Just trying to figure out what I'll have to pay CBSA. 5% duty and 5% GST? How was the shipping experience?
Was about to pull the trigger on a Bond Seamaster locally, but am getting drawn in by the lure of a GMT Planet Ocean...which might require going grey market to stay on budget.
^ I went through a phase where I burned through more money than I should have on watches. I'm not an expert but I enjoy watches. Out of the ones you list and Breitling would be easiest. The other watches, although nice, are not names that are well known outside the knowledgeable watch buyer/collector. So even though I would probably not pick the Breitling if I was keeping the watch, that is probably the easiest to sell. Disclaimer: I have purchased used watches but never sold one. I think it might be tough to get $2500 for any of the watches on that list.
I've got to echo what CarLester wrote. The only watch on that list that approaches a value of $2500 is the Superocean and even then $2500 is pretty close to the top end of what you could expect for it and it wouldn't sell quickly. I suggest you pass or insist on 2 watches.
Just wanted to recommend that Hulse go with the local and get the watch you love. You won't remember what you spent in 6 months. When it breaks, the locals will look after you like nobody's business.
When I travel abroad I cannot fathom buying from anyone else than the local people. Also, having some recent issues with watches they've fixed them for free or the going rate but gone above and beyond.
