I know it's more of the same as far as spinning our wheels without ever bottoming out for a high draft pick, but I haven't been this excited as a fan for a while. Sure we don't have the top end talent, but the effort and the way this team is bonding (fingers crossed losing Pelts doesn't hurt that) makes me happy to cheer for them on any given night.

I'd say one thing too is even though neither Frost or Farabee are burners on the ice they are both good skaters and puck handlers in transition.
According to NHL Edge both are slightly quicker than Pelletier and of
Course way faster than Kuzmenko who was near the bottom of the NHL.
So not only younger, and deeper after this move but also quicker which is something the team needs.

The feel of all this is starting to remind me of 04 a bit. Underdog team, that doesn’t quit. They play hard for each other, and I can feel the momentum building. Exciting!

Frost looks like he has a motor in his highlight packages. And he does that Bure wide legged deep turn at speed a lot. Plus he is nimble like a 13 we knew. Pretty solid on the hustle defensively as well.

So far Conroy has had a good sense for who has potential.

Holy crap P.W. and company still going strong arguing semantics and (team building) philosophy. Remarkable.

Flyers pundit reaction about Frost and Farabee leaving sounds exactly the same as we feel about Pelts leaving, much loved guys in the room that may take some time for players to get over that they're gone.
I don't know about y'all but that's a really big positive. These aren't jag holes they're bringing in if you would worry about messing up the team chemistry.

Imagine if we got a top 4 D next.... or snuck into the playoffs and Parekh comes in a la Makar. I still think this team can win a couple rounds, Wolf is going to infuriate other teams.

I do like that this was probably the most affordable top 9 centre under the age of 27 that the flames could acquire and he isn’t a rental player. Any of Cozens, Zegras or McTavish would have cost much more. I think Frost is less of a risk compared to Cozens or Zegras even though those two likely have a higher upside. It was always about the acquisition cost IMO. As long as it didn’t cost too much, acquiring a centre was a smart move. Conroy ended up buying low on a player that has spent lots of his professional career under Tortorella. I think he has more to give under a different coach.
Hoping both Frost and Farabee catch on quick with the team and hit the ground running when they get into the line up on Saturday.

He already has the defensive side of the puck figured out. He gives us another puck carrier at C, and there's more offence there IMO.
It's tough losing Pelts, with the season he was having, but LW is the Flames' deepest position. Unless he becomes a 60-70 point winger, that trade is a win in my eyes.
I'm also very excited to see Farabee off the rush here, playing with guys like Huberdaeu, Kadri, Pospisil, and Zary. I think the Flames' offence just got a lot better for the remainder of the season.

Pospisil IMO get slotted down the line up where he should be now. His role is going to decrease a bunch, perhaps so much so they may use him as trade bait.

So which one of these two is the Bennett coming in to pop after his original team blew his development?

Imagine Frost totally breaks out with the Flames, turning into an 80+ point center?
