The third baseman keeps backing up, forcing VG to round the base wider and wider. It appears to be the right call. But he would have been out by a mile either way.

Gausman is without a doubt the ace of this staff. I thought the manager was right in starting Manoah on opening night but I was wrong.

Ump interference is odd but it seems fair. He was definitely crowding the catcher who may not have been comfortable with winding up to throw.
