[GT] Game Thread: Flames vs Oilers (Feb. 1st)

Can't believe this team came out this flat in this game, I pretty much switched it off at the end of the first and came back to see the end of the line brawl.


I've said there's a leadership vacuum in this team. You can't come out on your home ice against a major rival where you can put a nail in them and be this poor.



I have serious questions about Gio's influence as the captain, there were cracks against the Avs earlier this year and this team just doesn't show much push when it needs to it.

It isn't 'just' about fighting. Rinaldo has actually been decent in most games, great in some. Great on the forecheck and he always plays physically. He is great for a game like this.

Rittich, and not the Oilers was the reason they had the lead after the first. Flames were attacking in the first and then stopped in the second and gave the Oilers all the space they wanted.

Interesting to hear that the Flames have to provide an emergency goalie to the Oilers. At this point you should just run Koskinen and get the emergency goalie some ice time.
