I'd much rather they go with a rule that limits timeouts inside 2 minutes than something to stop "Hack-a-(insert crappy free shooter)"

Man, what a frustrating game. Neither team played consistent enough to warrant any respect in the second round.

The 50/50 pot was only $25K?
I've seen Macs Midget games higher than that.

Monkey off the back I guess. Not a confidence inspiring win by any stretch but the Heat are not that great either so who knows? I think this weekend has proven the Spurs and Warriors have effectively created a D-League within the NBA, outside them all the other teams left are pretty close so it's open. Ross should be situational at best, Powell needs 25 minutes per and JV needs to limit Whiteside on the glass and they'll have a decent chance.

I am expecting (maybe more so hoping) that the Raptors will look like a completely different team against Miami with this first round choker thing past them.

People are going to point to Demar getting 30 points, but he still went 10 for 32. That is brutal. You can't beat a good team with your star player throwing up those numbers.

If people still can't see that you don't win with guys like DD in this league after this series, I don't know what will convince them. He's lucky their bench carried them, and that Indiana is just an awful team.

YES!!!!!!!!!!
The coaching in the last 6 minutes was absolutely putrid though. Slow to bring the ball over half, slow to make a pass, no off ball movement beyond the initial screen, panicked shots at the end of the shot clock. Rinse and repeat. That was absolutely horrible and inexcusable.
But I love the fight the boys showed tonight, they all fought extremely hard. No matter what happens next series, this is a huge step for the franchise. Can't wait to see how they do vs Miami.

Well they can't play much worse / they were brutal for most of this series and heck even in the 4th quarter when they pull off the incredible 16 pt choke. But still win.
So yeah I think it's pretty justifiable that they will play better now. Plus a different matchup. Pacers a very physical team which the puffs on the Raps can't handle. Plus as you say/hope the monkey is off their back so they should play with a little swagger to their game now.

I've been complaining about the coaching for a year and half now, but I'm really starting to think that the Raptors stars just have next to no basketball IQ and there's not much Casey can do with them. Some of those shots tonight are just inexcusable. Taking low percentages look distance ####s with a lead is just dumb and the Raptors do it time and time again.

Man, I'm more relieved than happy. I'm hoping I can relax and enjoy the next round more, but this round was... not fun. Probably one of the worst seven game stretches they've played all season (credit to Indiana), and really it's amazing that they still managed to win more than they lost.

Watching Sid Seixeiro after the game beside Alvin Williams, and just totally kissing his butt was a disgrace (Sid talking to Williams about DeRozan playing a great game). Those shooting percentages spoke for itself, and for Sid to wear the company shirt like that was embarrassing. His counterpart Tim, just stayed quiet.

I missed the game today and I am glad they won the series. Raptors need to cut down on their turnover next series. They also have to make some good decision-making. I just wish JV and the others will just concentrate on playing and not looking for a foul all the time. I mean if the ref don't call a foul, just keep on playing and stop complaining or keep on flopping. I think the Raptors can win the series against the Heat.

There was a stretch after the raps built a sizable lead after half that they kept giving DD the ball. Trying to force shots. It reminded me of Kobes farewell game. Without him actually making any shots.
I was glad when they finally took him out of the game and finally ran some plays and stopped the indy run.

I don't think it's fair to call the Raptors stars "next to no basketball IQ." Hate him or love him DeRozan does score 30 and take the burden of scoring off of other players. His ball IQ is lower, as a simple pass will make things a lot easier for himself. He was also tasked with the problem of providing scoring for his team while taking on a top notch defensive player in Paul George. 10-32 is awful, its bad, but who are you really going to have score the ball? Don't tell it's Valancuinas as well, he struggled in post up situations with Mahimi. Do I think DeRozans worth a max? No, but I believe he did what he needed to do to get the Raptors a win.
Now Lowry, doesn't take many bad shots, today he hardly took any. There is also the problem with his elbow, and thats likely one of the reasons his shot was simply not falling. Some of the shots he took in this series a healthy regular season Kyle Lowry would've made and yes it would've been a shorter series if that was the case.
As for the offence at the end of the game, for those of us who've been watching Raptors basketball, thats just who they are. They have been for the most part a isolation heavy team. They love putting the ball in Lowry and Derozan's hands at the end of the game taking time off the clock and go into full isolation. Credit the Pacers for knowing the Raptors and extending their defence beyond the three point line forcing them to force hard shots at the end of shot clock situations.
As for Miami, DeRozan can finally take a breather no more PG in his face. Lowry will need his elbow to improve, otherwise I don't think the Raptors can win.
Heat win in 6.
