We should hopefully see Grant up after the trade deadline or earlier. His size and face-off work would be an upgrade on Granlund. I thought he played pretty well in his first stint.

I'm not completely shocked he won fastest skater as you see him moving pretty good on breakaways and obviously he has some speed. Plus looking at the other names on the list, maybe one other I would have put ahead of him.

In comparison to the times of the NHL skills competition, Grant is only faster than Erik Karlsson. Every other NHL time was better.

Grant did the full lap of the ice. The head-to-head races in the NHL skills were a much shorter race (blue line to faceoff dot, down to the opposite faceoff dot and back to the original blue line).
In the NHL skills, only Larkin did a full lap, and they gave him a head start from the blue line (with the clock starting when he crossed centre) and had the nets sitting at the top of the crease. Grant started from a full stop at centre ice and the nets were positioned on the goal line.

Yikes. Even Abbotsford never had faith nights and we're smack dab at the heart of the Canadian bible belt.
Actually no, I lied. One time there was a post-game get-together with any fans who wanted to hear Zach McKelvie talk about his faith. That's as close as they got to that though.

not a fan of it but I found some (possibly unreliable) number that suggest almost 45% of Stockton identifies themselves as religious and identify with a religious group.

Yes, talking in generalities, but isn't religion generally important to a lot of Americans....so, as a marketing angle,....

The Hitmen hold a "faith and family" night, but basically every junior or AHL game has a theme night of some kind.

I'd suggest the major difference between religions is how they are marketed lol

Real Testimony: Actually.. I'm from like, Canada. But I heard the Golden State Warriors won a basketball championship thanks to God. Saw it on TV.

When Nakladal comes up, he won't play. It'll be Smid and Engelland on the third pairing.

Dustin Cowell @dustin_cowell
Derek Grant had 21 goals in 73 games last season. This season has 22 in 29 GP. New career-high for him and no sign of slowing down.
