Prototypical, but nice to see some fight back from Genie. Finally some positives to talk about for her!

Coco poised to take out Sloane in round one...
Edit: Done and dusted in straight sets.

2 aces in a service game is a record for Genie right? She wins 6-4, 6-3. Vasek takes the 2nd set of his match.

Well, you don't see that very often - Vasek wins the 3rd set tie-breaker at love to take a 2-1 set lead.

Nice jinx Girly. Vasek appears to have pulled his back. Not looking good now, doesn't look like he can move much.

Well that sucks. He was doing so well until the fourth set too.
Edit: looked more like a wicked leg cramp/spasm rather than back.

Well, too bad, but with Novak up next, it was likely going to be a short tourney for Vasek in any event.

Wait, Genie won today? I just expect her to lose every match now, what a nice surprise.

Safarova out. Serena will not face a top 10 player til the final.
Good for Bouchard too.

it's been a long year and they probably shouldn't be playing but they'll just show up for a $40000 cheque.

Are these guys just playing too damn much tennis and/or making enough money off the court (endorsements etc.) that it makes it pretty easy to pull the chute? Vasek probably should have retired yesterday, but in typical Canadian fashion he stuck it out to the bitter end.
Now Raonic's back is acting up - Oy vey.

Kyrgios is mostly frustrating because he clearly has #1 type talent but he's got the attitude and mental game of a 13-year old kid. Maybe he puts it together at some point but right now he's just a waste of talent.

Just checking Twitter but Milos says his back is good to go. He should be up in about 30 minutes, with Genie's match right after his on the same court.

Milos is looking good early on. Up 2 breaks the first set.
