Reports had claimed the brothers would leave Brazil to be with their family, but a team spokesperson said that they would remain at the World Cup. He told Press Association Sport: “The Touré brothers, Kolo and Yaya, have decided to stay with the team. They are not leaving Brazil.”
i am so pessimistic as to what englands performance will mean for club football in england. I fear Greg Dyke and the FA will use the crap showing to enfore their dick-brained ideas...
But yea as for the future we need to pick more players who play full time for their clubs, whether its lower premiership clubs or even championship sides.
Chris Waddle has a damn good point - this is a team game firstly, not a fantasy league.

The Sun's chief sports writer Steven Howard knows exactly where he's pinning the blame for the Three Lions' woes -- on the domestic top flight.
Describing the national team's performance as "embarrassing," he adds: "I have said for years that the Premier League, because of their uncontrollable greed, smug self-satisfaction and the wanton and totally irresponsible spending of their associated clubs who p--- all their multi-million-pound handouts against the wall, have no interest in the national team.
"They, most of all, will be laughing at the FA and this expensive comedy of errors that has unfolded in Brazil. I hope they feel proud."
They have to look at themselves --- most of the top clubs, are owned by foreigners; non-Englishmen who could care less about the plight of the English national team.

Precisely, theres money to be made.
And no English players play outside England. Well...Joey Barton.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I don't get the complaints about no Englishmen playing abroad
very few Italians do, very few of the best Germans do, very few of the best Spanish do
it's not like there's all these great English players being kept out of the league too, there's plenty English players in the league and a lot of them are horrible
i think england is still producing youth talent for sure (anybody following the lower leagues would see this), but the problem is they're not getting the opportunity to play at the top level regularly.
You can fill a position much easier and cheaper in the EPL by buying from abroad.

In Belo Horizonte and have been to a couple games, Belgium v Algeria and Argentinia v Iran. Heading to England v Costa Rica tomorrow, too bad no real meaning for England in that game

Spoiler!
One of my favourite things so far has been the Argentinian fans, they are absolutely nuts. They have a song for this World Cup that they belted out for about an hour in the stadium after the win vs Iran, here's a video of it (not mine):

USA-Portugal most viewed soccer match in the history of the United States.
How many viewers? Well 18 million sounds like a lot until you realize that it's a) about the same as a normal night of The Big Bang Theory, and b) it's less than 10% of the country.
