We are going to deserve whatever it is that we get.
Come on. are you saying the Republicans appointing Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) author of the book The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future, was not a good idea?
To me, it's just a sign that the social right (religious zealots) are losing a grasp on their ideal.
Progress has been made and that progress scares the pants off of some, so they take drastic measures that would have probably been largely accepted 100 years ago. They pass a bill that is clearly unconstitutional in an effort to hold on to something that has quickly become water and is escaping through their fingers.
It's not a sign that we're becoming more oppressive, it's a sign that the oppressors are realizing that they aren't the majority any longer and that change is coming like a freight train.
That's my take anyway.

It was a great idea!*
*I assume The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future, refers to republican's conspiracy to systematically refuse to acknowledge climate change as a real thing, and thus endangering our future.
Really good "Vice" episode tonight about climate change, mostly focussed on Antartica. At the end it got into the politics and had some clips from Rubio, Cruz and Inhofe which are crazy, but then they talk to Biden for awhile. I've never heard talk about climate change before but he's a pretty smart guy with some pretty convincing insight and the effects politics is and will have on it going forward.
Scary stuff though.

Yesterday Ted Cruz announces his bid to become president in 2016 and already has cemented his failure to win that bid. Even Mitt Romney believes in climate change:
He's pro gun, anti gay marriage, anti abortion, anti Obamacare, climate change denier, wants to eliminate the IRS, anti immigration, Dominionist.
He shut down the govt, took his ball and went home when he didn't get his way of repealing Obamacare.
He'll have a lot of fans.

I am sure he will have fans but not enough to win a presidency. He has no support from a lot of Republicans, and is so opinionated on so many divisive issues that he won't have any support from any moderates, which I think precludes his chances for the presidency.

A lot wont vote for him because of his name alone being a Latin name. He will have plenty of followers but no where near the amount to win.
I wont vote for him in the primaries or the gen election if he gets the nomination.

agreed. It's just too bad he has taken the far right flank so early, and now everyone else will be jockeying for position left of him. I so hope someone tries to out right him though.
