I was talking about the one in the middle that looks like someone stretched a suburban house. Although they also did the one you like with the black roof, which while I think it looks pretty hokey as well, at least is not embarrassing.
In general I just hate everything they do has this veneer of fake historicism. They're stuff is the urban equivalent of the McMansion with Roman water fountains in front of it.
They are also responsible for these cheeseball atrocities with the blue barns on top. Classy stuff.

Hmmm... an apartment and retail complex on Macleod Trail, looks nice.
Can anyone tell me if London @ Heritage Station is complete yet?

Whoops, was thinking the Ford by Macleod trail, what was that - Woodridge?
Still, London? I have yet to see that it's complete as planned, although I haven't driven by the west side of the development for some time now.

Doesn't Metro Ford back right onto the railroad tracks? That would suck to live a few stories above the trains running all night long.

I have heard that there was once a refinery around that location (Woodbridge Ford on 9th) when Calgary was very young, but I've never been able to find any maps that support this or showed its exact location - can anyone else back me up on this?

I live right next to the CPR tracks and after a few weeks, you barely notice them.

When I was younger, we lived next to the railroad tracks, Deerfoot, and were right over the approach to the airport (I could see the control tower from my window). After a while, they just kind of disappear.
These days, I'd take all 3 if it meant I didnt have to listen to idiots on motorbikes in the summer.

I'd guess he means Metro and my earlier confusion (I brought up Wood(b)ridge Ford) is just making the confusion worse.

Currently they finishing the parkade along McLeod trail. Then there are a bunch of retail spaces to be built on the parkade.
Plus, there are two more condo towers planning to be built between the existing two. And no amenities have been built yet. I would say that the project as a whole is about 50% still.

The two-way traffic makes it look much more pedestrian friendly than the 4 lane, 1 one-way configuration of 9th ave. I assume this is just an artistic liberty, and not referencing some plan to change the traffic direction here? Nor can I imagine the lights being removed from the corner of 10th ave; they'd likely be right infront of that pretty atrium feature.

Anybody know what they'll do with the block on macleod trail between 12th ave and 13th ave se. It has a boarded up building on the block right now and nothing else.
Seems like a good spot for retail or something.

Well that's... different. Not entirely sure I like it, but it's better than boring.

Guarantee you that project doesn't look anything like that when it's all said and done.

not even close I live down the street they are about 12-15 stories below grade.
The whole project has changed but at least they are putting a save-on-foods in.

They still haven't gotten to that point yet? When's the ETA of the Save-On?
I toured a show suite years ago and was flabbergasted at the price and that was for a low level, bad view suite. I'd have been pissed had I purchased and it was at the current level of completion still.
Anyone know how the return would have been on those places?
