Exactly. Does anyone actually think that the UCP are going to follow through with this, whether they win or not?

James Bader is a moron. Not sure where he gets his understanding of constitutional law, but our educational system has failed.

Tip to Smith though: They will turn on you just like they turned on Jason Kenney, and he was a lot more politically shrewd than you.

Not so fast, he was probably home schooled.

If she bails on that deal I think the Calgary MLAs would lead a coup and get someone else to wield the novelty rubber stamp. They'll want it, and being the UCP leader means the knives are always out for you.

I think this sums up how the UCP “pre-election” campaign is going…we got a mail out yesterday for the incumbent MLA. Ok, makes sense…except he is not the MLA for our region, so someone clearly messed up which postal codes go where.

Went to a @ABDanielleSmith event tonight in Calgary. If she doesn’t win Alberta is finished and Canada becomes a communist ####hole. Climate lockdowns and 15 minute cities will be the first then
@rachelnotley
will go door to door jabbing you with gain of function bio weapons. Get out and vote like your life depends on it.

Don't think this is a one off mentality either, tons of people I know feel this way. They are just keeping it mostly to themselves and going to work and mingle among us.

Theo Fleury died 10 years ago. This is just some semi-washed homeless fellow that they've given his twitter handle too.

Imagine anyone not being excited for that. Gain of function bioweapons? Have you played Deus Ex? Give me my superpowers, Rachel!

Although, Rachel Notley going door to door jabbing me with a 'gain of function bio weapon' sounds f'ing awesome. Looking forward to the NDP Captain America'ing me and turning me into a ripped, patriotic super soldier!

Would any of the UCP supporters care to share their thoughts on why it is that people who think like this support the same party that they do?

Ahh the ole 15 min cities conspiracy. There was a time when people thought that you should have most of your amenities in your neighborhood.

But you'll get a ticket/fee if you are downtown during certain hours. Kinda like you have to pay tolls on some roads and bridges to get across them too. Its pretty helpful to reduce traffic congestion... this isn't exactly a new concept.

Used to be called New Urbanism. Haven't heard the 15 Minute City name for it until today. New Urbanism concept has been around for decades.

The 15-minute city has been discussed for months. However, it’s a municipal decision. I don’t understand why people complain about having services nearby.
