Getting Burakovsky checks that speedy scoring winger.

Definitely one of my favourite names I’ve heard might be available

Burakovsky/Holtby for Smith, Czarnik, Gillies and 2nd in 2021. Flames take on big contract in Holtby. Capitals get expiring Smith and young goaltender prospect and cap relief in 2020 while still being competitive for this season. Already have a number 1 in Grubauer. Czarnik doesn’t seem to fit. Throw in Lazar too.

What? Washington already chose holtby over grubauer in the summer. Grubauer went to Colorado and has been pretty terrible.

What is this part based on? Your guess or some inside info?
Flames recently had a scout at the COL/CBJ game, so we could be scouting Colorado and not WSH.
|
Guy with some inside info from a few east coast teams.
Told me that we've been after Bura for a while.

Yeah.. Starting To doubt alot though. Getting burned pretty bad lately.
No heads up for Matthews, no heads up for the small trades.
Told me a bunch of stuff I haven't posted(Ferland to CBJ or real interest and discussions with Ferland to resign), Jordan Staal on the trade block, Dallas close to grabing Rangers players, list goes on.
I know his connections are legit, but yet again at what point do these deals fall through.

i enjoy the fun of it...everything should be taken with a grain of salt anyways, as it is just a message board, though i appreciate hearing rumors

Well I for one appreciate when you post the tidbits you hear. Way more interesting than the endless boring debates about Bennett that don't belong in this thread to begin with.
Even if they don't always happen.

FWIW, I appreciate their posts, and just because a team is working out a deal with another team or actively pursuing a player, doesn’t mean it’s a given.
Don’t like trade rumblings? Don’t read em. The timing on the Brassard deal was spot on, so that’s enough for me to be interested in what else their source has to say.

Sounds like the Flames — who heavily pursued him — were closest

@MikeKWalters
Couple other rumors: (1) SJ could be dark horse for Panarin at the deadline. They’ve reached out. (2) CAR/BUF/CGY have all inquired on G Ryan Miller but don’t believe he wants to leave ANA.

Wilson is one of the best GM's in the league I expect him to land a big fish at the deadline.
