Thought the same thing. They don’t have a first round pick until 2027. Nothing much in prospects - Trevor Connelly is their top prospect but his value would be hard to gauge as lots of teams had him on their do not draft list.

I guess they could just keep trading their future first round picks.

Boston was lightly rumored to have interest in Hanifin iirc, though that interest may have been in the other direction.

Marchand is also a UFA after the season. So probably doesn't ultimately cost that much. Perhaps Connelly and Nicolas Hague would be enough.

Even if Marchand had term, I don't trade Hanifin for him.

Yeah, he is a fine player. Like if we already had him, I wouldn't have a burning desire to trade him, but he isn't player I would want to give up a lot of futures for, and that is probably what Seattle is looking for.

There will be 7 games played during the 4 Nations tourney. 2 have been played so far, or 28.6%. A little premature to be making such a declaration but it may in fact turn out to be the case.

Doubt the GMs are taking a break. But probably keeping things out of the media to respect the players.

Yeah. It would be pretty rough if the Bruins, for example, traded Marchand while he’s focused on playing for his country and he’s about to be playing back in Boston for this tournament.

I heard last night Fitzgerald has called at least twice wanting to make a deal for Andersson, I know Conny has said publicly that he's not available but if he can pry Mercer away I would do it in a heartbeat.

I absolutely LOVE Rasmus, and it gives me the warm and fuzzies that he wants to stay here, but I would drive him to airport personally if we were getting Mercer back. I would even throw in a juice box for the ride.

Rasmus for Mercer AND Nemec? Wouldn’t happen, but then again- Conny got Frost AND Farabee for almost nothing….

But nemec+Mercer would be an easy yes for me.
