I have to comment on this point specifically, every side is doing this now. If anything, I would say Trudeau is the master at it.

As seen in any conservative run province, corporations favored over Education, healthcare and anything people actually need. Add to this corruption, like the Greenbelt fiasco in Ontario, Alberta take your pick of ministers just doing whatever they want to using their positions. Shandro, Madu and now Shultz.

No actual ideas or solutions are ever provided, they are just really great at pointing out problems to stir up their base who does little to no research.

Anything they disagree with is "woke"

Just off the top of my head.
He's already saying things like that...fire the head of the BoC, make Bitcoin...something?, kill the CBC. Deity help us if he is in charge and we have another pandemic.

The guy was brought up in the same circles of Preston Manning hell as Smith, they feel the same way about many things, act the same way, and what, we are supposed to just pretend he won't govern in the same way? That'd be pretty dumb to fall for that.

I hope that’s not the best you can do to justify JT and liberals staying in power?

Sorry, but "Smith, but federal" should be concerning enough for any Canadian.

I'm sure you have examples? PP, Sheer and the gang have pinned everything they can possibly think of on Trudeau by name, just like Kenney and now Smith blame Notley for any Albertan issues, despite the NDP only being in office for 4 of the pervious 40+ years. I don't recall the same mud slinging and half (orr less) truths from the other side. Happy to be shown that I am wrong though

If JT was spouting the same stuff as PP, you’d be mocking him for being so ridiculous.

The same NDP that sold their souls to the corrupt Liberal Party?

Not a chance.

A Quebec separatist is now interim Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons.

Lol "sold their souls." What juvenile perspective. Do you mean "successfully bargained to get the most NDP platform promises passed by the party since the 70s?"

Say what you will about Singh, but he's accomplished far more for his base than Layton or Mulcair ever did.

If it was based just on leaders, I'd go with Singh. He is probably the most "stately" of the three.

I just have some bad associations with the how the party has governed in the past. It also doesn't help that my in-laws are huge NDP supporters, but also believe that Covid was a hoax or that Ukraine was planning a biological attack on Russia. People talk about the loony fringe right in the Conservative Party, but the NDP has a lot them too.

And yet when push comes to shove they won’t get any credit from anyone who wasn’t already voting NDP.

100%. I think much of that has to do with the collapse of the Greens, but the anti-vaxx and pro-Russia stuff definitely crosses party lines.

The average voter is a dummy. More stunning revelations at 11.

Huh? People should be allowed to visit the HoC if they want to. This is kind of standard practice in provincial legislatures, too.

The government recognizing them and rising for them is what needs to be vetted.

For the last five days, both Liberals and Conservatives have done nothing but talk about who is and isn't to blame for this mistake.

What an unbelievable waste of time.

Maybe it's always been like this. Maybe social media has made it more apparent. The only realization that has come to me out of all of this is simply how much I hate the government.

Like it or not it’s one of the most embarrassing Canadian political moments in a long time.
It’s getting the attention it deserves.
