Tatar would be a decent add. Probably a little cheaper than other options.

No, as much as people rag on Lazar, he's been good. I thought no he'll be a really good 3-4 line guy moving forward.

You trade Stajan for a pick, you make your team worse right now. That 4th line is plugging along nicely now, and I wouldn't want to disrupt that. Of course he isn't untouchable by the slightest stretch of the imagination, but I would want much more than a 4th or 5th round pick to disrupt what has been a pretty good line for a stretch now.

I am much more intrigued by tatar than Kane.
If it costs fox, I actually think I will be quite disappointed.
Flames really ought to sit this deadline out.

no mention of Flames:
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
I don’t get the sense the teams who are interested in E Kane in BUF are same teams who were/are chasing Nash with NYR but Kane suitors will no doubt want to see what is potential yield on any Nash deal. SJ, ANA and, to lesser extent PHI, reportedly looking at E Kane.

Why is everyone trying to trade away Fox?

All three make sense. Particularly Anaheim, Kane fits their identity perfectly doesn’t he?

I hope Philly gets him then. You damn well if he goes to SJ or the Ducks he is going to go beast mode.

You do realize that a fourth round pick can't play on the team this year, right? You do realize that the Flames need to ice a team, right? That they are competing for a playoff spot? That the only other centre option for the fourth line is Lazar, who hasn't played centre at all, right?
So trading Stajan makes the team worse right now.

I was writing a longer response, but what it comes down to it that although fans are aware that he has value as a prospect, they don't know the extent of that value. So when teams might be willing to give up more for him than Valimaki, Andersson or Kylington, that sounds great. Sell away! Not enough thought as to why he holds more value.
Fox has never given any indication that he will bolt to free agency.
He's potentially our best prospect.

Lazar is a former Oil King, so I'm sure the Katz family would love it. Could probably get the Oilers to give up even more.

Personally I like Valimaki better than Fox. I think he's more complete.

What would you accept for Stajan. A 3rd?

Cammy for a 5th, sure - not for Lazar. Lazar is playing well.

Either way. Fox is arguably our best prospect, and closest to NHL ready for a UFA who people in this thread are penciling in on the 3rd line?
Unbelievable. Awful.
