Pretty sure DC would have a big problem with a script where Batman bit the dust in the movie.

Doesn't he die in the comics?

And it didn't go over well with the DC brass.
Batman dying is more sacrosanct than any other superhero dying...because batman is, as Carl Sagan would say, a 'Yuman'.

Is it really necessary to use spoiler tags for guesses?

Perhaps the Spoiler tags are hypersensitive. But I know some people don't even want to speculate.

Speculation isn't really a spoiler, so I don't see why the tags are needed. I think we're becoming a bit oversensitive to spoilers, I mean anything can happen; there are countless ways Nolan could end this franchise.
Personally I don't see a continuation of the trilogy into a new series of movies as that is not what Nolan would want. Warner's and DC obviously would want a continuation, but I believe Nolan has full control over this franchise, and the only way he can leave his definitive mark on the franchise is with an ending.
Also knowing that Nolan is producing the Superman franchise, does anyone think Supes will be mentioned in this movie, or maybe they'll release the first trailer after the credits? I could see that happening since Nolan is in control of both franchises.

Spoiler tags are a non-issue.
I feel like being careful and appreciate when other people are as well. Having one extra click as I scroll through a post isn't really something a give a second thought to.
Frankly, I'd like it if people used the spoiler tag more often for things like images, too, if only to keep the forum more readable.

Batman does not die in the comics:
Omega beams do not kill, they send the consciousness travelling through parellel worlds. For most people, this is as good as dead, but for someone as strong mentally as Batman he was able to debunk the fact he was in a parellel world and make his way back to the original world where his body was.

If they break his back I hope the foley artist uses the sound of a 2x4 being shattered byq a sledgehammer.

I don’t think we see a Nightwing type character. I think for serious or even semi serious fan of a the Batman franchise it would be very cool to see that character introduced but if you did that you alienate your nonfan who is used to Robin and may have never heard of Nightwing before. I can just see confused Girlfriends everywhere asking “so was that guy supposed to be Robin? Who is Nightwing? I didn’t get that”. We all know that Nolan has stated he would never introduce Robin, why bring in Nightwing?
The thought are JGL temporally becomes Batman while Bruce Wayne recovers from Bane breaking his back. Bane kills him (JGL Batman) in some epic public way but then Bruce comes back as Batman, kills Bane, and then everyone views him as “more than a man” prophesied in Batman Begins.
