Huge win tonight especially for the teams confidence. Tampa still stings, I agree but still so many games left, can easily make up for it.

Mike Wilner, who is part of The Fan 590 broadcasting crew, has been assigned to house arrest by his radio station over a series of disagreements and criticism of Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston.
...
In his most recent meeting with Gaston before the Tampa game during the pre-game scrum, Wilner was asking the manager pointed questions regarding his use of the bullpen in Tuesday’s ugly loss.
Wilner clearly was getting under Gaston’s skin and the manager did a slow burn while giving short curt answers to his questions.
In his blog, Wilner wrote that Gaston had “belittled” him in front of other reporters.

In his blog entry posted after Wednesday night's game, Wilner addressed his confrontation with Gaston: "It's unfortunate that I can't have a legitimate discussion about strategy with the manager without him feeling as though he's being attacked (or at least reacting as though he's being attacked -- I don't know what he was feeling), but such is life.
"I don't need to be belittled by the skipper in front of the entire [media] assemblage when I'm asking legitimate, rational questions about a situation that he brought up earlier in a conversation."

Weird story, but it's hard to argue against Wilner. Cito's bullpen use has been very suspect this season (especially so in the game in question).

But Wilner must realize that he works for the broadcast station which pretty much means he works for the team.
It would be like Rob Kerr criticizing Brent Sutter about line combinations in an open press conference. Don't think Kerr would last very long.

Unless we've heard the actual audio, it's hard for any of us to judge. There's lots of managers/coaches out there in pro sports that simply can't criticism about their decisions very well.
And the questions were during a post-game scrum not an official press conference. That's a huge difference.

I can't stand Wilner to begin with and he always comes off as an elitist jerk in the call in shows after the game.

I like that he challenges callers, doesn't just let people spout bullpoop.
Opposed to Steinberg and his "I respect your opinion that Kipper should play forward" tripe.

Hill and Lind are completely lost out there.

Looked like another Gregg blow up but he comes up with a huge K. Texeria makes Hill and Lind look all star worthy

I agree that I can't handle Steinberg just being a yes man with no personality but Wilner is so opinionated he only calls out callers when they disagree with him It gets annoying after a while

Why do the Jays refuse to bunt?

I thought they would lose for sure. Nice to see the bunt by Lewis, but it probably should have come a couple innings earlier.

The more I think about this the more it bothers me. I'm livid that the Fan would censor commentary that does not reflect well on Rogers.
Do we have the audio, or a even transcript?

That change-up that fooled Tex for the K was fantastic.

Between Lind and Tex the #3 hitters in this series are putting on some sort of clinic!
