Generally you see them on bridges. They help keep any derailed cars from falling off.

Forgot to post this earlier, but all the alignment changes were completed over the weekend on EB Bow Trail @ Crowchild.
There are now 3 EB lanes the whole way after 37th St SW. SB Crowchild now has a yield (previously merge) into one of the new thru EB lanes. NB Crowchild still gets its own lane when joining onto EB Bow, so there are a total of 4 EB lanes on the Bridge, with the RH lane being forced to exit onto 5th Ave Connector (previously just an optional exit).

Yes, I'll always carry the memories with me.
Like the one when I went to sleep at 6am on the day when my son was born, and was awoken 90 minutes later by a guy mixing concrete 20 feet from my bedroom.

This is the "Transgressions" thread. There will be many transgressions after Dec. 10 as the City tinkers with routes to get them up to optimal performance.

Yeah. The first week especially will be bedlam. Drivers who don't know all the new routes. Chaos at the station bus loops with riders looking for their buses/how to access the train. Replacement/fill/peak time buses coming into service late or going to the wrong place. Confused riders in general, etc.
Any of the systematic oversights (and there will probably be a few) likely will become apparent after a couple months. If they are voiced (either by drivers or passengers), changes will come in March and/or June with the seasonal service revisions.

I suggest you take your son to city hall to tell them this pretty awesome story. (Take the train!) Pootmans' office is in old city hall.
(I'm only half-joking.)
It is a pretty crazy story that could only happen in a town run the way this one is.

Drivers not familiar with new routes, maybe the first day or two then they should be fine.
[rant]
Riders who are lost looking for new buses and how to access trains, they're just plain stupid. We've known the new bus routes for about 6 months now. The only thing left is the schedule. Each person has one route to get to work, how hard is it to figure out?
But people are stupid. I know people who will take the West LRT everyday who have no idea that it's going to start on Monday the 10th. They have no idea what busses to take. PANIC.
You are ONE person, you need to figure out ONE bus route. Get off your iPhone and figure this out!

I put it much earlier in this thread, but this is still my favourite picture from the construction:

Considering it would be a city project that gets underway at 7:30am this could be taken as a compliment by some.

Ya, this city is so horribly managed, I mean, how dare they improve infrastructure close to where people live! Oh and don't get me started on the twin $50M bridges that no one uses. I hope Nenshi is impeached from Silly-Hall for all of this

Well, considering the city has infrastructure from 1977 (and 500,000 people) and a population that's just under three times that, it's amazing that they're able to get projects like these done.
I like that they seem to be planning ahead a lot better than they did 15-20 years ago, though.

^No offense, but I don't understand what you're getting at, and how it ties into 7:30 AM construction start times.

New maps and schedules are out!
Tell everyone you know that there is a C-Train and new busses so there's no chaos on Monday the 10th!
Whatever bus they took before, figure out if and how it's had changed! This is more than a week in advance, there is absolutely no excuse to be a struggler!

Dislike that 420 of the ~750 stalls @ 69St. Station will be reserved stalls. Sirocco surface lot will end up having similar # of un-reserved stalls, which is odd considering it's half the capacity of 69th.

Nope they're still around.
It's really just the Bow Trail ones they are being turfed.
