Cmyden, do you know how often these come up at westjet?

Air Canada is doing a different deal every day that Canada wins a medal at the Olympics. West Jet is matching these. The deal a few days back was the $49 flights and today it's 20% off international flights.

Why do these deals always pop up when either: A) I Don't have spare cashola, or B) My travel dates don't mesh with the deal dates.

Yeah I know, I was pumped to hear about $49 YHZ-YOW, and then found out that it's not for the dates I need.
July 9-11 for the record. I'm hoping to find something decent as a friend of mine is getting married and I would love to attend her wedding.

Air Canada is continuing with their 'give out some sort of discount every time Canada wins a medal' promotion.
Most of them aren't that exciting, the best deal probably being San Diego for $290 roundtrip after taxes, for midweek to midweek travel (Tue/Wed/Thursdays).
Expect WestJet to match as they have been doing all along.

cmyden,
I am looking at booking 3 flights over the next 3 months. I have included in brackets the prices I have seen to date.
YYC -> IAH: April 16 - 19 (~$590)
YYC -> ORD: May 1 - May 9 (~$650)
YYC -> ORD: May 7 - May 9 (~$650)
Thoughts on any good deals for these dates to these locations?
Thanks!
-FoB.

The IAH one looks about as good as there is, but for the Chicago flights, they can be both be had for $493 after taxes on Delta.
Ever considered flying into Chicago's 'other' airport, MDW?
It's closer to downtown Chicago, more convenient, less busy, and almost always the same price from Calgary.

"I used Hi Ho travel in February. My flight went from Calgary to Beijing through Vancouver return and also included an inter-China flight from Beijing to Shantou return for $1400. All flights were on Air Canada/Air China."
"I also had some friends fly from Calgary to Seoul to Cebu City, Philippines on Air Canada/Korean Air and then Hanoi to Seoul to Calgary for around $1500. This was through Nippon Travel. I flew through Air Miles so I didn't take this route. I also flew KUL - NRT and then KIX - KUL for about $700 through Nippon on Malaysian Airlines which was about $50 cheaper than the internet. If you are flying to Japan and/or looking for a Japan Rail Pass I recommend looking at Nippon Travel."
"I was in Chinatown for lunch one day in about September of last year and on a whim, decided to stop in at that Pan-Asia(?) place in Dragon City Mall to enquire about some Cathay Pacific flights I was monitoring.
The quote they gave me for the four exact flights I wanted (Vancouver to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Bangkok, Singapore to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Vancouver) was hundreds of dollars less than booking directly off the website. I paid $1398, all in which is a good deal.
I was astonished to say the least and booked with them right away.
I would of thought booking directly off the website would always be cheapest but I guess not?"

I still don't know if I've ever seen any evidence that they can get cheaper flights than anywhere else. If you find something, post the travel dates here, I'd like to see how it compares!

I'm surprised no one posted the ridiculous sale that AC had yesterday... I was going to but was lazy and thought someone else would have anyways.
THey had 2 for 1 on any flights in Canada until April... I booked Calg to Ottawa for a wknd in March for $74 each way which is around $250 all in and booked flights for a buddy from Otown to Vancouver for the Olympics this wknd THurs thru Sunday for only $500 all in each.
Let's hope for some more medals so they can continue with these sales!

Unless i'm going blind, I didn't see a posting for the one day sale yesterday... Air Canada has a different sale each day Canada wins a medal and yesterday was the best by far. (Today is 25% off to select US cities)

Yeah I posted yesterday's, it was a good one.
The one today didn't seem to offer any great deals. Just a few select US cities at prices that weren't too exciting.
