Minor brag . . . . . the photo below has been published in the January/February 2010 edition of Canadian Geographic as the runner-up in the "Canadian Landscapes" category of their 2009 Photo Of The Year competition. Last breath of winter. The net had been pulled off the deteriorating ice but a spring snowstorm was blowing in . . . This outdoorsy piece of Canadiana was shot on my way home from work, standing in the muck of a gravel road in a suit and tie near my house.

So playing around with Photoshop a bit:
Original:
I love the sun flare with the castle and the flowers in the foreground, but there's there's too much contrast between the foreground and the background. Tried to bring the foreground back and got this. My brother also did something with the colour for me.
Good work? Overdone?

SebC, it looks way over exposed. The building should not be so lit up. The light source is behind the building. The original is better, IMO.

Some pics from this past weekend at the ice festival in Harbin. One of the most amazing spectacles I've ever seen. The scale of it is amazing.
Wish I'd had these for the last photo contest. Pretty much all straight out of the camera.
