Wow. If so. That'll be close to a career ender. He's going to be 29 next year. He's rarely played a full season. A lot of what ifs for his career. But at the end of the day. Attrition and durability are #1 when evaluating running backs.

You have to wonder if maybe Lawrence just doesn't have it. He's probably going to get another coach as Pederson will walk the plank for this season but the next guy has a lot of work to do to get this guy trending back up.

Trevor is the QB desperation conundrum summed up. While he's never lived up to the "prince that was promised" hype, he's also not been truly horrible enough to walk away from. Was he worth the second contract? Nope...but if he got to market he would have got the same contract, or even more. And if you do walk away from him maybe you find a good rookie, or maybe you get a reclamation project like Baker or Geno who works into a quality starter...or maybe you spend 5-10 years looking for someone as good as Trevor was. And when you're the current coach or GM the risk of maybe getting someone better isn't going to be worth it to them, and you won't be around to clean up any mess that a bad contract will leave, so here the Jags are.
