I was thinking the same, talking with him maybe? Is that a thing? In person for negotiations? No where better to be? Or to watch the next 2 Flames games vs Winnipeg and Detroit

Flight was probably booked last week along with the other accomodations. I would take this more as positive affirmation to all of the smoke.

Read into it what you will but I turned on the Devils Kings game near the beginning of the 2nd and I have not seen Mercer take a shift yet. Holtz has had a few shifts including on PP #2.

Of course they want Markstrom. I don't think that's news even from last week. They don't want to pay the Flames price, yet, and that price should be through the roof for a solid top 10 goaltender with a decent contract.
But I don't think there's a bunch of teams on him, or is he actively thinking anything will come of it. If the Devils don't pay the high price, my guess he stays and we will all be happy he does.

My guess is it would be more to talk with him in person before making a trade than trying to watch him play. You know what you're getting and you saw him first hand a week ago.
If you're here it's to talk about strategy and why you think he's a good fit, remember part of this is convincing Markstrom it's a good fit for him too.

I'm just going by what I have seen since turning on the game. I have yet to see Mercer take a shift. Keep in mind Holtz plays 4th line minutes, Mercer gets top 6.

They could be looking at Blackwood, who would be a lot cheaper. They should have a book on him but maybe they want to see how he’s progressed since he left.
