For all the crap Dickenson takes about being a bad coach and/or play caller, all you have to do is take a look around the league in order to realize he’s doing just fine. Not beating teams by 30 points when you think they should does not a bad coach make...

Through three quarters of play, Mike Reilly has 66 yards passing. That is as they say no good.

Seriously you're up 34-18 and you throw in a fake punt?
That's when you wonder why you're QB got his head ripped off.
Plus you're giving away a fake on video that you didn't need to.
Just stupid coaching.

That sucks for Hamilton. The league needs all of its top QB’s playing to have the best product possible.

The product has been pretty bad this season as a whole. Lions and Argos look historically bad but even at that we have seen a lot of no-shows from other teams as most games have been snoozers. By the fall I can see sub-10K attendance in BC and Toronto at this rate and really I can't blame fans for not showing up as those teams are being run so poorly they don't deserve any support. What's it going to take to get someone fired in BC? That offensive line is as bad as I can remember from any team. Just embarrassing.

CFL Footballs quality has really slid for me over the past 4 or 5 years. I don't know whether it needs an influx of new coaches with new ideas. Or if there are too many teams that just don't seem to take recruiting seriously, but have of the games every week are almost unwatchable and I find myself turning them off.

There was about a 10 year stretch from about '87 to '97 when we had several great quarterbacks in this league like Matt Dunigan, Danny McManus, Kent Austin, and also a guy named Doug Flutie. Really, when you look at it, aside from the a few years in the 2000s (coincided with F-Troop), the Stamps have been fortunate in having a pretty good run of QBs, From Flutie to Garcia to Crandell (okay, not so great, but he did win a Grey Cup) to some barren years to Burris and now Mitchell. Sure, you had Anthony Calvillo who had a great run in Montreal and Ricky Ray's career that just came to an end, but quarterbacking as a whole in the CFL just doesn't seem to be as good as it was 25 to 30 years ago in this league.

^^ Agreed. We no longer have guys like Burris, Calvillo and Ray — who could play 16 games a year plus playoffs at a high level. Before them you had Dunigan, Austin, Ham, McManus, Flutie, Dickenson, etc.
I would argue the quality of receivers has not kept up as well — no Allen Pitts, Jock Climie, Darren Flutie or Ben Cahoon who would dominate for 10+ years — instead guys are looking to go to the NFL and/or are getting replaced with younger, cheaper players.
The CFL is a passing league so it’s hard to have success when your QB’s have sub-100 passing yards in a half.

I hold a small glimmer of hope that with the QB salary scale moved up that more QB's down south look at the CFL as a viable career at half a million a season or more if you are really good. There's little doubt the QB position is extremely weak now as Reilly is near the end of his career. There's been some really bad QB play from several teams.

Stamps and Lions swing a trade today:
The Calgary Stampedes have acquired a conditional fourth-round selection in the 2020 Canadian Football League draft and the rights to a negotiation-list player from the BC Lions in exchange for American offensive lineman Justin Renfrow and a fifth-round pick in the 2020 draft.

They must really like the neg list player otherwise I don't see the point in helping out the Lions unless they were considering cutting Renfrow.

They may be helping out Renfrow. He was in Calgary for a while but hardly played. This is probably a much better opportunity for him. Calgary’s O-line problems are on the non-import side.

Damn, that news about Brescacin sucks, but there could be some good news on the injury front...

He's still pretty raw, but this likely means Klukas draws back in and he looked pretty good earlier in the season. I would argue that he's faster that Brescacin, but not as big a target.
