You are aware of what happened at the end of Infinity War correct?

A major issue with episode 9 is that there isn't much left.
The Jedi are done. Snoke, and whatever evil force he was working with are done. The First Order and the Resistance's fleets have all been wiped out.
The only thing that I can think of doing is to set the movie into the future 10+ years. Kylo Ren has rebuilt the first order and become a menace to the Galaxy. It wouldn't be all that much different than the original trilogy, where significant gaps happened between movies and the characters and plot progressed substantially between movies.

The rumor is that the movie starts up several years after TLJ.
I expect that the first order will be crushed in the first half of the movie and the ending will be the Force battle between Ren and Rey

There is still a dark side, Snoke even talked about that. Just because Luke became a space hippy talking about a balanced force doesn't mean he was right about it.
The Sith teachings might be gone or lost, so what you're getting is a guy like Ren who had jedi training and darkside powers.
We didn't see any thing like Lightning thrown around though.
I still go back to that first fight between Rey and Ren and she was taping hard into the Dark Side.

Scared the poop out of Luke too in TLJ, she went straight for the mossy hole in the cliff. Cool thing is shes strong enough to stare the dark side in the face and not succumb to it;s whims.
Rey I think is more like Mace Windu than any other Jedi. Taps into a bit of the dark side during melee combat. but has an obi wan intelligence about her.

I still say that at the end of the day, she's going to be the balance point between the dark and the light and will not allow other force users to rise.

Yeah, #### that hopeful kid at the end with the broom. No more force power for you!

Well I watched Suicide Squad for the first time last night and I didn't hate it. I went in with super low expectations, but found myself thinking, "you know, if this was an animated movie, I probably would consider it half decent".
I did zone out a couple times, so I may have missed some things. There were definitely problems with it. The whole story was a bit of a mess, but the camaraderie built between the characters was enough to keep me interested. Got a little to melodramatic at the end for it's own good instead of keeping the pacing light and fun.
Robbie was excellent.
Smith seemed to have fun with it.
Didn't hate Leto the way everyone else seems too. Thought it was a decent take. I wouldn't have minded seeing him as the Joker in the overall DCU.
Boomerang made me laugh a few times.
Diablo was pretty badass.
Enchantress went back and forth. When she was her like black demon form she looked cool and menacing. When she was the odd, dancing, real/animated mashup of Delavigne with her funny hat, not so much.
Flag had some good moments of straight-man sarcasm, but also fell into some pretty wooden territory. There were times where he was almost keeping up with Smith but you could tell couldn't quite feed off of him the way better actor, or even a comedian, would have done.
Overall I thought the cast carried what is otherwise a pretty messy film.
I dunno. I'd sit through it again. Which is saying something . I haven't had interest in any of their films since "Martha". Wonderwoman was decent too, but the end villain was still uber lame.

Suicide Squad just has so many aspects that make it unbearable.
Killer Croc looks like they used some left over costume from that horrid 90s Mario Bros. movie. The CGI battle in the end is just awful. Particularly in a movie using heros as villains. There's just so many better angles you can go with that.
The Leto Joker is just painful to watch. Leto just didn't get it at all. It's weird to say, as Joker is open to so many interpretations. Leto just feels like he spent a lot of time looking at himself in the mirror and no time actually researching the role. The tattooos are weird. Why does Joker have "deranged" tattooed in stylized letters on his forehead?

Ahhhh you people make we want to go on a rant every time you compare the quality of the prequels, and opine for another movie rehashing the originals scene for scene without anything new to contribute to the universe. Just go watch 4 and 5 over again so you can stop complaining.
That and then reading posts about how Suicide Squad is an OK movie. Its bewildering.

I haven't seen the movie so I can't comment on the performance, but I doubt the actor got to decide on things like that... I suspect the costume design and marketing were higher up and it was a look someone thought would sell.

I finally got to see Venom last night. Overall I enjoyed it, growing up Venom was one of my favourite comic book characters and I think they nailed the aesthetic, attitude, etc..
But what I didn't like about it..

Venom wasn't earth shattering but I did enjoy it. I think the universe is set up nicely that Morbius could be good, same with Kraven. It's a shame they don't have Blade as he would have fit in perfectly. They just announced a sequel for Venom so hopefully it tweaks things and we get a better film 2nd time around. My dream would be for Andrew Garfield Spider-Man to show up in the sequel.

What? Why? Those movies were terrible.

I'd rather they re cast Venom with Toby Maguire.

You're probably right. I don't know how much of this video was staged, but they certainly did make it seem like Leto had more input than normal into his look though:

Ugh....so painful to watch. Apparently, he walked around set in character.
I actually really like a lot of Leto's work too. This was just such awful casting.
