Spain appears to be playing much more direct in these last two matches.
Which is bad news for the other teams - because a more direct Spain, playing with a top class striker in Morata, will be very hard to beat.

also no rotation ... same line-up in all three games. Interesting decision but I can see the idea behind it.
very lucky that Rakitic didn't bury this one though. Very rare error by De Gea.

Such an interesting dynamic to that Czech-Turkey game because Turkey needs to win at least 3-0 and probably 4-0. So even if they score another, they'll probably only get more aggressive. Czechs should have chances to get into the game.

Croatia should have that goal disallowed because we didn't get to see the "attack" on the ref as promised.

De Geas streak ends after 494 minutes ... has just conceded his first goal in a competitive international. Nevertheless he broke Gordon Banks' record (442 minutes).

If Croatia scores again we have a Spain-Italy 2nd round match which would be nuts.

2-0 Turkey. Should be a fun final 25 minutes there, Czechs appear out but we'll see.

joke of a pen, in every sense of the word. Terrible decision and equally terrible penalty by Ramos.

What a fun sequence that was, horrible penalty call followed by a save that should have never counted as the goalie was well off the line. I guess it all works out in the end.

Likely why the Ref allowed the Keeper to be 5 yards off his line

That was a fun sequence of events.
Start with a BS call, follow up with BS encroachment, serve up a hot tasty cup of BS shot and we just wind up right back where we were before all this nonsense ever happened.
Good times.

yeah refs need to start looking at that. Seems to be a trend among goalkeepers since it never gets called ... I remember watching the Bayern/Dortmund penalty shootout a few weeks ago and Bürki was clearly off his line every single time.

I think if the penalty taker can screw around with his approach then the goalie should get something too.
