Good review of the PS4 by polygon. They basically call it a great console with a poor launch lineup. Will be interesting how they review the XB1 given what looks to be a slightly better launch lineup as Forza will likely be very good and Dead Rising has a lot of potential.

On the flip side of all this, Mario 3D World looks fun. Too bad I would need a Wii U to play it.

I didn't click or read the Polygon link - but for the reasons I mentioned above, I figure they'll be a more positive outlier on the Xbone stuff.
As an aside though, has any console launch ever had a massive or awesome lineup? I think we'll have to come back in a year or two to have a better feel for things. That won't stop me being an early adopter on things though.

Dead Rising will likely be fun, but if the recent videos are evidence of the finished product (terrible pop in, poor frame rate) the game may just be un-playable.

I will eventually get the PS4 but the launch titles don't make me want to rush out and get one right away.

The only launch titles that come to mind are Super Mario Bros., Wii Sports, and Halo. As for combined lineup, I'd say this upcoming generation might have the best, but neither seems to have a standout title.

Super Mario 64 was the launch game. Heck even at the end of the console's life cycle it was still easily in the top 3 games on the system. Not many launch games can say that.
It's too bad Infamous Second Son couldn't make launch. It looks superb.

The Killzone review reads very well. The 8 is on a new system, so I would rank it as "very good". Based on a NEW system, I imagine editors expected more and are leaving room for that.
The Knack review reads sub-par, or "not great", quite boring and fairly vapid. Bargain bin material for sure.

I think Twilight Princess was also a launch title, but to be fair, that title was originally developed for the Gamecube.

GT is probably the best pure driving simulation but I believe Forza has taken its place as most popular racing game as it allows for deeper tuning options and more forgiving for new users as you don't have to level up like you do in GT to get access to the good cars. If you want the absolute best driving simulator GT is the way to go although Forza has closed the gap and that could be even closer with the upcoming release. If you want a driving game that is a little more fun and more accessible Forza is probably the better choice.

If it makes any difference Forza 5 is on the XBox One and Gran Turismo 6 is on the PS 3.
